Okay so what I understood from the 1st post was that ALL computers are bottlenecked. Right?

Okay so here is my situation. Im currently running a P4 (3 Ghz) with 2 GB of RAM and a Radeon x1950 Pro.

I have the option of getting a Pentium D (2.8 Ghz Dual core) with 3 GB of RAM but no grafix so i would have to buy one. I would buy the card stated.

The P4 has EXACTLY the same stats of the D but the only difference is that its dual cored which is an improvement and I would put in the new video card.

So the D and HD is a bottleneck so I could or should go for a lower vid card and save some money or not?

By the way I cant use the 1950 on the D because its AGP and the D is PCIe.

So what should I get. Remember I only have $200 and I live in central america so the hd here goes for $200 where I could get a geforce9800 GT in the states for that price. I know its a rip off but what can I do.

Okay so my PC just got messed up. It turns out that the 2nd HDD (the one were I recently installed Ubuntu) was bad so I just had to recover the vista boot loader. What are some Hardrive maintenance and error avoidance tools? Right now Im using TuneUp Utilities 08 to defrag, check for errors, recover readable data from bad sectors and Active SMART to monitor HDD temp, errors and changes to Disk in general. Are there any other tools I should be using?

Are you serious? A bottleneck? I really dont think so I mean it is fast at 2.8Ghz plus its dual core. Nice FSB too so the data transfer should be fine.

Right? Gonna make a new post about this.

So I would indeed be getting more for my money then? My PC should then outperform the 360 right? Plus I still get to use my keyboard and mouse but what about the game seleccion? Plus the 360 still looks really really good though. Im still unsure.

Guess Im taking this top the 360 forums too since well.....Im only getting answers from PC folks.

ARe you guys sure that the grafix is better than the console?

The million dollar question here is why?

I mostly use my PC for gaming wouldnt that make the 360 best for me? Why the graphics card over the 360?

I have a 500 watt antec with 2 LED fans. Oh by the way my case is fairly cooled. Its one of those glassy cases that you can see through the glass and has 3 LED fans . That doesnt matter ofcourse. :D

I was gonna ask at the 360 forum too but they dont seem to know there hardware much so....

Okay so I currently have exactly 210 bucks.

I have a Pentium D (Dual core at 2.80 Ghz) with 3 Gigs of RAM running at 159 Mhz and a 260 GB HDD at 10,000 RPM and a Radeon x1950 Pro (overcloked).

With this $200 I can either buy a Nvidia 9800GT with 512 MB at 256 bit, core running at 660 Mhz and 1900Mhz core clock.

I also have a PS2 & Xbox and find it really hard to play FPS with freaking controller (I just hate it!!!) but the 360 does get the better games like Gears of War 2 (which will not be ported to PC) and I could just pop the DVD in and play right out of the box without all the installing hastles it take me about 45 minutes to freaking install Gears of War on my PC.

Please help me choose so that I can make my choice before christmas!

Thanx in advanced.

Edit: Oh and I would be playing the 360 on a 32 in while i would be playing the Pc on a 22 in at 1600x1200 max.

Edit 2:  I have a 500 watt antec PSU ny the way and a well cooled case with fans.
