Two games, one release date. If you like myself or on a tight budget and are a massive fan of Action adventure games which one of these new IP's do you choose?

Let's look at both games pros and cons

Bayonetta first, the game has a demo available on all networks and many websites and magazines already feature favourable reviews. The game is also designed by the same guy who designed devil may cry. So in its favour Bayonetta has the pedigree and with the ability to actually play a portion of the game, we know what we are getting into.

Darksiders is a more unknown quantity, with release in less than 24 hours and no hands on demo too speak off how do we know if it will be worth our money? I don't mean to be harsh in any way on Vigil Games but they are somewhat new to the game with Darksiders being there only release so far and the only other game being a new warhammer online title.

The game looks good in previews but so did tony hawks ride, I remember just how often developers hold their bad games until the last moment so that day one sales aren't affected by bad reviews and this seems to be the case with Darksiders. I hope this isn't true however but I for one will be waiting until I get more information on the game before I buy it.

Edit : Meta critic currently lists darksiders with 89% with quite a few favouable reviews from websites such as IGN though official xbox magazine have given it 7/10 saying that its a good game but lacks that substance to make it great (i'm paraphrasing)

Of course I could go the other route and get Army of two (I did enjoy the first one) but for me at least i think I will go for Bayonetta

Edit: for those of you interested in seeing a play through of the first 10 minutes of darksiders check out darksydephils youtube page here its the first 10 minutres of the game so far hes in about 90 mins of gameplay and you can watch it all but i dont recommend it.

the great thing about phils review / playthrough is that hes not out to please anyone and you get his full opinion no matter how obscene it is. its not for everyone but he is genuinely funny and has some great videos every week

on the 360 there is now a playable demo of dark void, its a game I am really looking forward too,problem with this is that its ludicrosly short and doesnt really give you a good feel of the game,also it looks ugly as sin andI hope thats only because it is still in development.

Also on ps3 the MAG beta seems to be getting off to a bad start, im havent played it myself but there is a lot of people complaining about it right now.

lastly the wii has had a good week for new content but i for one havent found one new game that i would purchase.

I honestly didn't expect any votes but thank you to everyone who voted for me. it was nice to be nominated but to come in the top ten was just amazing.

i know its the holidays, at least it was the holidays but seriously every other website ever is now being updated regularly and there isnt any new content here on gamespot for over a week. can we geet 1 person back from vacation soon games are coming out this week and i need to know stuff about them.

dont make me go to IGN, its slow and hurts my head!!

Edit: ok we got some updates but it was just the release schedule for this week from gamespot AU, thats progress lets see an editorial :P

I haven't mentioned it before but my partner is a huge twilight fan she even writes a blog about it over at Blogspot and you can find that here, but I have wrote a guide for gamers on how to avoid having to take part in this horribleness.

Below I will share a few of my tips and tricks.

Mistwirection- There was a time when sitting still would cover you for long periods of time on your Xbox the problem these days is that the standard twihard has evolved from its T-rex stage and can now see you over the corner of the book regardless of your ability to sit like a ninja on sleeping pills. This forces us gamers to come up with new distractions, now here's where you play the Robsession card. Thanks to the films twihards can be left mesmerised by the sight of one Robert Pattison and can only see you if you come between his picture and their face.

I recommend something similar to this prototype voodoo rob as shown below

Remember you can substitute Robs head with one of his fellow co stars for a similar effect....

WARNING: never try to replace the head with that of Bella, all tests concluded in destruction of the doll and loss of my Xbox privileges.

Twypnosis – memorise a few key phrases from the books, you don't have to get it right. Paraphrase if necessary the trick is certain magic words, anything featuring lions and lambs will do also around dinner time you can try repeatedly asking for fork. The twihard will instantly become glazed over and will instantly feel the need to search out and read the nearest book.

Twibaiting - finally as a last ditch attempt you can say something derogatory about twilight, forcing the twihard to leave the room in disgust. This method should only ever be used in extreme circumstances as it can cause twihards to pounce on you with a ferocity not seen since last month's problem time.

Today I spent the day looking at the indie games available on Xbox live. Honestly this community channel needs to get a quality filter on it, for every great game like avatar golf there's a rubbish app like LCD test or fireworks hd. I mean seriously these aren't even games by any stretch of the imagination.

Anyway I just wanted to highlight a few gems I found

You play as Johnny as he jumps and double jumps his way into a coffee fuelled frenzy. Nice retro gameplay and available for only 80 MSpoints

Fight your way across a strange planet killing aliens and rescuing your buddies as you go. This game is one of my favourites from the launch of community games, well designed and amazingly fun too play. Available for 240 MSpoints

Leave home looks great and plays great, wonderful for score junkies everywhere. Available for 240 MSpoints

That's my 3 personal favourites for Johnny biscuit romp there is now a Xmas themed sequel but its 240 MSpoints so I still recommend the original. Now here is an example of the games I think should be removed making it easier for us gamers to find actual games.

One for the strange Xbox is littered with rubbish apps that make no sense to anyone such as the above.

Overall i would say that the quality of the games on indy games is going up, many new releases feature avatar support and even surpass the build quality of many xbla games. at the same time how ever there is a constant parade of rubbish apps coming and this needs to stop.

I've had the internet a few days now and I have scoured every last inch of my big white box for online content to use and abuse, I have had such a great time i need to share my experiences this far with all you fellow gamespotters.

Modern Warfare 2: playing this online has been the brunt of my experience, great new maps though in my opinion not as good as the maps from COD:WAW though still fun, perhaps it's my inexperience with the new maps that is hindering my view .

High: getting my first predator missile streak and killing 3 opponents with it, great fun

Low: having my care package stolen over and over again L

Left 4 dead 2: I have mostly been playing versus mode, overall some great improvements over the first game, the maps are much better now and the changing maps helps to keep it fresh.

High: jockeying a survivor into the witch causing his team to alert her almost wiping the team J

Low: having my whole team wiped out by a charger on the window ledges and teams in versus who kill themselves when it's their turn to be survivors ...noobs .

1 vs 100: great quiz game that's basically free if you have a gold membership. The best thing is the questions never repeat so you can never memorise the answers.

High: getting a 10 question streak of correct answers

Low : getting the 11th question wrong L

Also I just want to make a note that I cannot believe that joy ride is still unreleased, i really wanted this only to find it's still not there come on big park give us the game!!

I'm actually in work right now, when the clock turned 00:00 i was on the phone too the worlds loniest 30 year old who was buying a cd so that when he finally achieves frienddom he can show off his collection.

there was fireworks and everthing going on outside but i just ate my cheerios and continued on with my job :(

The reason im in such a bad mood is because my good friend jay invited me too his for new years, a bunch of gamers hanging out playing dj hero,guitar hero,rockband and getting somewhat intoxicated, it was gonna be awesome...

I finally recieved my pet chocobo from xbox.com

its a free downloadable pet that i registered for about a month ago, xbox.com where giving them away too celebrate the launch of avatar pets and final fantasy 13

isnt he cute and at least i didnt have to spend $4 on him

What a day today has been, I got my broadband router this morning in the mail, it's a day late but better late than never and you'll be happy to know that my broadband is up and running from 6pm this evening.

The other good news is that I received my inflatable swords from Jody Robinson. They came in the mail at the same time as the router which was a bonus surprise. Fragments__ and I had some awesome sword fights which ended abruptly when I accidentally stabbed her in the eye L also it turns out the swords are quite sharp at the edges as I myself am spotting several scratches from fragments deadly slashes .Pictures of the swords below

In other news big thanks to everyone who voted in my poll I counted the results and the eventual winner was neither game, both modern warfare 2 and left 4 dead 2 scored 7 votes each so on a tie breaker I asked one friend and I went with modern warfare 2.

Playing modern warfare was an eye opener for me today, after sharpening my skills on the bots over the last few days I felt ready but today I was utterly humiliated for a few rounds before I finally started getting the hang of it, I'm level 12 after 3 hours play .

I also have a few demos downloading I've been desperately waiting on playing both Dantes Inferno and Divinity 2, looking forward to that and lastly today I finally got too play 1 vs 100 which was an absolute blast.

Anyway I'm in work now for the night but if 7 hours from now you're on the Xbox, look me up if you fancy some COD or L4D2 fun. My gamertag is buft, don't be shy !! :D

Oh and on a last note which I forgot , I used the first of my game store vouchers and bought a headset for my 360 because my old one got broken in storage and i got the lovely chatpad free.
