@Mirimon78: what did I just tell you? I will not be fooled into going on any wild goose chase so either you put up your evidence or be quiet with your nonsense. and I believe that clearly you don't have any proof but are just going on crazy hearsay.
where's your proof about 1%? where's your proof about sony? where's your proof about Microsoft?
oh and FYI: I understand English very well my internet friend and know when someone is full of bullshiit.
@Mirimon78: once again you're taking spewing it. where are you evidence. I don't remember Microsoft saying anything about the allotment of Azure resources to XBL or to any dev or business that buys in. if you have evidence of such knowledge then by all means post it, clearly you know where they said it so it should be easy for you to find and post. I will not be fooled to go on any wild goose chase my internet friend. if you can't post your evidence then keep your FUD to yourself.
@Mirimon78: it's fact the game launched on ps2 first, it's fact the game came out on 360 after, but where is the fact that sony wanted cross play with xbox live? I remember the 360 launched with an ff11 beta...the game was not developed for the og xbox for what could be multiple reasons, the one seems more fitting is that og xbox was a new platform/entry into the gaming world and it wouldn't make sense for such a dev to sink so much into an unproven platform without knowing if there will be a second machine. this was the reason many dev houses skipped the og xbox and why the ps2 had so many games released.
oh and by the way YOU are the one making outlandish claims so YOU are the one who should post your own evidence, if you can't then go sit down in a corner somewhere and be quiet about your nonsense. the only policy that i'm aware of is that Microsoft want xbl users to be able to play together if they chose and they don't want devs to take that choice away from their users. same issue holding ffX1V, Noaki wants to take that choice away.
@joshrmeyer: I can't believe the nonsense I just read: "by constantly allowing interviews with the same questions"......are you saying all those interviews are pre-scripted or that MS reps can read minds?
@Mirimon78: care to show were you got that 1% figure from....however, if it was pulled from the bottom end of your torso then you can keep it. you speak a lot of outlandish nonsense. by the way, just to let you know publishers and devs have to pay for server use, simply because they do not have the money or distribution necessary to cater to everyone so they rent server usage. also please show some data as to where Microsoft demand that publishers, developers use ONLY Xbox Live. if you're talking about cost then please answer this: if your game supports xbl or psn won't you need to pay for it either way? also, if your game support pc won't you need to pay a different company for server usage anyway?
as far as I've read and understand about this, it's just a matter of plugging your existing network into XBL, as in using the XBL APIs to transfer data between networks. for your game to support xbl you must pay for xbl server just the same as it has always been, however, now you can plug in other networks at no additional charge. the only mandate Microsoft has it that XBL users get the option to play with ONLY XBL users if they choose.
@Mirimon78: can you post the evidence of this? you saying "yeah, sony did, is actually of backwards because I can say no, sony didn't. so post some evidence of where sony wanted cross play between Xbox live and PlayStation networks. I know the game came out on the 360 but that's about it.
