@creepywelps: I believe they're open to all networks not just PlayStation. Also for the past console generations I don't remember Sony ever saying they want to do cross play with Xbox. If I am wrong then correct me here, but Sony has never said "yeah, we're open to everyone".

@Atzenkiller: oh can you tell me cheaper it is? what's the cost of bandwidth, sir? whats the cost of providing a 40gb AAA game to over 50 million people? with games like COD, battlefield, Halo, Uncharted there's pretty much a guarantee that 3 to 5 million people will be downloading day one other than those who've pre-loaded...all this while providing the same capacity for hundreds of other games in the store.

@jinzo9988:then in that line of thought I wonder how developers makes such beautiful games on PC even though they support gpus that was made 5 years ago or more. developers are not forced to run 32bit on a 64bit machine, developers are not forced to use same assets or techniques on each version of their games. developers can start giving console players PC like settings in their games as some have already started doing this way players can use the features they are comfortable playing with at framerates and graphical settings that's playable for them.

common sense tells us that everything has limitations, but are those limitations noteworthy? surely the R290 isn't holding back the gtx 1080 is it? no, because PC games are built with scalability in mind and this devs can bring to console as some have already done. Xbox One S proves that devs just needs to have scalability in mind as some games actually runs better on it. So then what do you think happens when an even more powerful system comes, the game will most definitely runs at it's target, so right? so what if the game has a 4k target 60fps with a slow of graphical techniques in between all with switches and sliders available to the player, the more powerful the system they play on the better their games can look, right?

the ps2 and the ps3 was on the market at the same time but I don't remember people screaming that the ps2 was holding back the ps3. but I heard and read people say the xbox 360 was hold back the ps3 (even though most games ran better on the xbox 360....it's like saying the ps4 is holding back the xbox one). so I wonder where this one system is holding back the next system came from. I think it started with fanboys wanting to feel better about their system of choice.
