@Raistlarn: is there any other BC systems that we could juxtapose these numbers? how do you know 10 hours isn't par of the course?

out of 47 million ps4 buyers, how many of them bought uncharted 4? between 4 or 5 million copies sold, why not more, since it's such a huge game for sony and has such high meta scores and everybody is talking about it....? it's when you put this number against other huge titles that you see and realize that it's actually a really good number.

saying: "I thought it would be more" actually means nothing. 10 hours could mean the time it takes to finish up a couple games you didn't get to finish on the 360, it could also mean that 1 game you wanted to play again plus the 1 you wanted to finish or maybe the few games you wanted to play for only a few minutes.

out of a thousand games the average person might own just over 10, so out of 240 games how much do you think the overage person might own or play? in 2011 or 2012 the xbox 360 had about 8.8 attach rate or something like that which was more than that of the ps3. out of the millions of consoles sold and hundreds of games available, there's only an average of 9 games bought for each system? i'm sure if you look on your system right now you have over 80 games installed....so 9 games per system seems pretty damn low, but it's only when you put this number against other systems that you see this number is actually a little more than average for it's time.

what i'm trying to say is that with nothing to put this 210 million hours into context you can't say "I thought the numbers would be higher, they so low, no one's playing". that's like saying uncharted 4 isn't selling well compared to the market size or out of 1300 games only 9 games are being bought per system is pretty low. it makes little sense out of context and drawing small-picture conclusions like that just solidifies my point that averages here doesn't really work.

@creation0: don't know who's selling more worldwide, but vgchartz numbers are nothing to go by. Also, the US, UK and Austria are among the biggest if not the biggest gaming markets in the world, when making a statement you would want to talk about the bigger markets. so I don't see Microsoft mentioning those as an indication of them losing in other markets.

@barcaazul: that's a weird way to look at it, what i mean is averages doesn't work here, because there's almost nothing to put your answer into context.

does it make a difference if I converted the numbers and say: "gamers spent 24,000 years in combined hours playing BC games on the Xbox One Platform in the space of just 1 year."?

@PStrife: if you own the disks then the games are free to play. if you don't own the disks then you'll either have to buy a physical disk or buy a digital copy......isn't that how things go for any modern game??

also I don't know what you meant by "sanctioned" because they have to get the "ok" from publishers before they can release the games run in the 360 emulator.

having BC is good for them, good for publishers and good for consumers too. and when something benefits all 3 groups, it's a damn good thing.
