@Richardthe3rd: have any examples of indie games to provide progress that AAA companies refine? the reason I asked is because I can't think of one. so since you made the statement do you have any?
@suicidesn0wman: actually they didn't get it right in 2013....its just that Microsoft got it wrong in 2013.
If Microsoft had went for a gaming machine instead of a media box it would've been a totally different landscape right now. We would have had two companies vying for customers and creating great products features to one up the other instead of one company having success and taking its success and customers for granted.
@smokerob79: c'mon sir, read with understanding: "respawn brought slide, jetpack, wallrun, mechs in one cohesive environment that makes sense for their game's atmosphere".
a top down and a side scroller? Carriages had seats and wheels but they aren't cars are they? Respawn brought different elements to the First Person Shooter genre in a single game. they were and are doing things in the genre that no one did or was doing before.
I think you have the wrong idea of what "cohesive" means in this context.
if it sucks to be old then it must sucks to be you......I mean, if you're going to say Wolfenstein 3D clones because there's a weapon on screen, then it can be said that side scrollers are clones of the first because you go from right to left. we can even stretch it farther and say Wolfenstein is a clone of Maze War because it was the first first person shooter, the game even had network play!
anyway, fighting without titans were a new game mode DLC'd in after being requested by many fans of the game. also the game has great balance, in a titan you're not a god, a pilot can take you down by rodeo and empty two clips in the brain but you as the pilot can eject and kill the person before your titan goes down, you can catch a pilots or other mech's rockets and fire it back. Mechs vs Mechs are balanced.....anyway, it sounds like you sucked in the game.
@smokerob79: not sure how you came to that but ok, I guess because it's a 60fps shooter. anyway, respawn brought slide, jetpack, wallrun, mechs in one cohesive environment that makes sense for their game's atmosphere.....then almost everyone else copied. I don't think you can call titanfall COD, when it's COD that is copying.
