@bluesteelMeGaSE My old system had an 8800GTX graphics card and that played most games on max for about 4 years the whole system set me back £700 and thats because i set it up with multiple high speed hard drives and went way above what hardware i would need. The added functionality of the PC for me makes the cost more worthwhile i get the best graphics of all three and all the other functionality that comes with a PC, the 360 and ps3 on the other hand a console costs almost half as much as a pc and does less than a quarter of what a pc can. and the games cost on average £15.00 more. I save hundreds a year gaming on my pc.

@sflowers539 I love my ps3 and 360 but if you look at a high end gaming pc running crossfire or SLI and compare that with a ps3 or 360 you will see there is no comparisson PC cake walks all consoles. And speak for yourself my games never crash maybe you should try a pc that has the minimum requirements.

tomcrole your comment made me laugh if you have the patience to learn how to build a new system it can easily be done for 500 pounds and thats above mid range not the same level as enthusiast systems but plenty for gaming on. Also if you buy one of those god forbid mid range systems!!!! :P its still going to out power both the 360 and the ps3 in the graphics department with a much larger and more varied games catalogue. I spent large amounts on my own PC purely because i like having the new components to test and game just like i have watercooling because i wanted it not because i need it. but i buy every game i want which is most easily over 50 a year including indie dev games pc games in england are 10 pounds cheaper than console versions and comes with higher grade textures in most cases in 1 year i save an average of 500 pounds over console prices on games i have a computer thats useful for mroe than gaming i have the knowledge to fix my own hardware unlike 90% of xbox owners. and i have access to games other than sports and FPS That to me is a far better reason to get a pc. I also have a 360 and a ps3 for exclusives and blu ray for the missus but PC will always be first for me. I work in a pc repair and sales shop and our budget gaming system is 500 and that is enough to play games on high settings and when it comes to the most expensive part the graphics card my advice to all is buy what you can afford but a good entry point is the higher mid range and then in a year add a second one of the same card when the prices are rock bottom a dual card setup like that lasts years.

I use my PC for all games that are cross platform, 360 and ps3 for there respective exclusives. Reason without a doubt PC has the best graphics and the games cost the least so it makes sense as for ps3 and 360 there exclusives are almost always worth a go. As for the graphics on all 3 none of them are bad granted the ps3 screens on this comparison look really bad but from my experience especially GTA IV did not look that bad when i owned it anyone who says a console ownz a PC is talking rubbish similarly anyone like me who uses a PC mostly who says PC ownz all why bother get a console is also talking rubbish. There is no right or wrong answer here i dont care what some comparison shows when you are sat there playing the games they all look fine. all have merits consoles ease of use less time needed to learn the ins and outs of the console and there cheap. For PC to get the most you need to learn you hardware how to optimize and look after the system as a whole it takes longer to learn but the upside is you have more functions better graphics free content mods and other nifty little features the price is slightly higher than a console but not $1000 + like some people seem to think also to get the best value for money you need to build your own. reliability - ive had RRoD on my 360 once ive had it since release. my ps3 harddrive has gone screwy once since release also. PC ive had a fried motherboard corrupt RAM and a broken DVD-ROM and ive been building them since around 2000 also from experience helping friends shop bought computers are far less reliable than a custom built PC or either consoles Bottom line is all 3 work as they should and work fine for me the pros of a PC far outweigh the price but i use it for work also so either way i would have one

WARxSnake - I dont really agree with that the lack of detail in games happens through out the game in bright areas as well as dark so making it darker still to cover up a lack of detail would be pointless and akin to removing your arm because you have a bad finger.

mbchfdh2 - I get ya Beastcake- there is really no need to get rid of a PC agreed it can be an inconvinience but with the right security vuris are virtually neutralized with a good security program AVG is a good one. worst case scenario it would need to be formatted. i would have been interested to see a CoD4 comparison that is 1 game i think look superbly done on all console and PC alike.

mbchfdh2 - Agreed i was not trying to act superior in anyway as i said in a previous post i have got all three and enjoy all three prefer my PC but thats personal preference the point i was trying to get across was mroe to the people who say that the cost of a pc means that it is more of a waste i was trying to make the point that a pc can be made relatively cheap within 200 pounds of a console if you are careful and that the versatile nature of a pc + the mods and free stuff you get with pc gaming whic many console players dont actually hear about like server size etc for me ofsets any argument against the price. that said I to agree consoles have the place theres nothing like having a few mates over on the weekend for a takeaway some beers and a night of gaming especially FNR3 And if i came across as acting superior i appologise.

lph_mg - $1500 for a top gaming rig is far to much if your building youself. it can be done way cheaper and upgraded for a minimum every few years. And well done for learning how to use bit torrent to pirate a game most people know how to do that and choose not to id rather pay for it and have them develop games for the PC than have them pass over PC's for a console due to people like you. so gratz if you wanted to put an end to pc big named titles your going the right way for it. i can only hope someone swindles you out of the said $1500 that you worked for and earned i doubt you would appreciate it.
