I have to agree with Chris Chicken--the last thing we need is another Kotaku. They're influence is already spreading to places like Gamespot and Polygon, and it's not amusing. It'd be one thing if they presented rational arguments, analyzing the situations and offering sound advice; instead, we're treated to reactionary garbage bitching about there being a female hostage (the horror!) or reactionary opinions based on false assumptions (the FC4 gay villain fiasco). It seems Ubisoft in particular has been getting a lot of shit from ignorant SJWs lately--game journalists pissed at Ubi for some reason? I am pissed at them as well, but my complaints stem from Splinter Cell being diluted into a TPS and the wholesale abandonment of Prince of Persia in favor of that horseshit AssCreed franchise.

And I do have to agree to some extent--cutting off your penis and taking some estrogen pills doesn't make you a man. Still shouldn't harass people over their mental issues though.

Sniper Elite 3

Most of the big ones can be found either on Good Old Games (GoG), run by CD Projekt Red or on Steam. Only a select few gems like Swat 4 can't be bought digitally nowadays...though there's other means to get such games (buy physical off amazon if available or....well...you know).

Oh yeah, it's a shit load better than Sniper Elite V2. There's actually a real stealth system, the maps are fucking enormous (although there's only I think 8 missions in the game), the AI is decent if you set them to a higher difficulty, and it's a damn pretty game. My only complaints about it are little things--the fact that enemies far as hell away almost insta-hear you if you move a body (better just to leave them where they are) or fall down a slight ledge, occasional glitchiness, and the sometimes wonky AI line of sight. Overall though, it's a massive improvement over V2, especially for me as I play the game like Splinter Cell and only use the sniper rifle when there's a really good time for it.

Oh, and it's REALLY well-optimized. I am maxing it out (no SSAA though) and getting a very stable 60fps on my 7870. The only area I've encountered that was poorly optimized is the castle area where you have to rescue a prisoner. Even though it's a completely closed off area, I get weird framerate drops when looking over the courtyard area. I really can't explain it--you'd think it was CPU bottlenecking, but that wouldn't make much sense as the area is probably the most closed-off area in the game with the shortest draw distance and such.

First off, most of the "console peasant" stuff is just light-hearted jabs. Very few people actually take that shit seriously. Secondly, who gives a shit? This isn't some Sunni/Shia thing where people are killing each other.

It's an exaggeration for sure, but I don't see what the genre has to do with it. That seems to be implying that TPSs don't benefit greatly from 60fps....and they do. Any action game benefits from it. All games really benefit from it, even turn-based ones, as it makes menu navigation far smoother.

Well, you can pick up an old copy off of Amazon or some other store (for a ridiculous price--$200 new, $30-40 used). I myself just used an old copy one of my friends had lying around. The most convenient way...well...I think you might know; I don't think anyone is gonna bitch at you when you can't even buy a legit copy from any DD stores anyways.

Yeah, I wasn't very impressed with it. The grappling hooks and ziplines are a cool idea though. I just didn't find the game modes remotely engaging, and they really didn't seem to emphasize teamwork. I quit playing after about 3 matches.
