Why do Gamespot have to be different to every other reviewer

I think that after the latest review of a game so highly anticapted by 3DS owners me included Luigis Mansion Dark Moon looks fantastic with a bigger adventure and multiplayer,

Let's look at it from the big name reviewers.

EDGE 8/10: These guys are known to be very harsh and I think if you get a 7 or higher from there you are very lucky.

9.3 from both Gametrailers and IGN: The other 2 big name sites that is high praise it is a big score and anything over a 9 and that is saying go buy this game.

8.5: Game Informer: Yet again a very well known place for reviews

9.5 from Destructiod: Not the best site in the world for checking reviews but they praised both the single and multiplayer experiences saying adding multiplayer just makes it even better.

The game has hit plenty of 9s across other sites/magazines and now we come to Gamespot. Again pulling no surprises to give a game a 6.5 So they are telling me that Paper Mario Sticker Star and New Super Mario Bros 2 are better. Well I don't believe them,

Now I didn't hate the first game it just lacked length and a few other bits. Anyway I have been looking forward to this game since it's announcement but it goes back to the old saying does Gamespot have some sort of personal vendetta against Nintendo games.

LOZ Twilight Princess: Virtually 9s even 10s everywhere else so they give it a 8.8. My score about a 9.4

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption 8.5 here I gave it a 9.

Super Mario Land 3DS scored remarkably well 9s most places 8.0 here. Me I gave it about a 9.3

Mario Kart 7 Scored well mid 8s even some high 9s elsewhere. Here 8. Me 9.5 Seriously I thought it was the best entry yet.

LOZ Skyward Sword: This game got massive praise 10 in Edge and IGN and fairly respectable scores elsewhere. Here 7.5 disgrace I gave it about a 9.6. I rated it the second best game of 2011 behind Arkham City.

So I am just not surprised that Gamespot have reviewed a game so highly anticapted by Nintendo fans whereas other sites have praised it Gamespot must be thinking this. LETS BE DIFFERENT AND DISS EVERYTHING WE POSSIBLY CAN FIND WITH THE GAME.

But that aside forget the GS score go by the average or if you are a big Nintendo fan like me go and buy it when it hits store shelves.

The worst types of DLC you can come acroos

I have experienced this in alot of my games recently and I have basically started to avoid getting DLC for certain games because of it. Here are some of the worst types of DLC you can come across.

Costumes: Culprits: Mostly fighting games: No doubt about it when I think of worst case scenarios fighting games want to suck out your money more than anything. I mean how many different types of costumes can you access on Street Fighter,DOA5,Street Fighter X Tekken,Mortal Kombat and various other types of fighters. They don't advance your abilities or anything or make you better they are just for show.

Character Skins: Culprits Mostly shooters: There are many character skins you come across in various games but rarely do you find them most in shooters. I mean I play Uncharted and I see lots of people going for skeleton like skins and such. I don't think this enhances the performance but it certainly isn't needed. I have heard that in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light you get a Kane and Lynch skin to buy. Kane and Lynch who'd be sad enough to buy that.

Buying Soccer/Football players: Culprit Fifa Ultimate Team: This is just daylight robbery basically. You start out with a bunch of nobodys and you have to win with them online to get the best players in the market because your coin count goes up by playing matches and winning them. Or wait a minute let's throw it in so you have to spend either Microsoft Points or Playstation Store money to get better players quickly. EA are the worst by far and this proves. Some players must play games like this 24/7 to get the best that money can buy.

Weapon Mods: Cultprits Various shooters: There are plenty of shooters out there that people play none stop to become gods on to get the best items in the bussiness. Weapon Modifactions is obviously the most broken giving you better accuracy, damage and of course ammo. It can break games sometimes.

Adding Extra stages, tracks or characters: Various Games: This comes from various games such as fighters who didn't have the time to throw in a certain character in because they had to bring the game out quickly, Stages because they were probably still working on it and with not many stages in a game to begin with had to be thrown in at the last minute and the final one tracks from racing games that weren't finished or added for various reasons.

There are some good DLCs that have been worth it but these are the ones that can suck money out of your wallet. Be very careful what you spend you Playstation Store/Microsoft Points on. If you wish to add anymore than please do mention in the comments section below.

God of Bore Ascension

I think the latest God of War proves that you can only go so far with a series for it to become dated and Ascension certainly proves this.

The combat is the same no change. You still get upgrades but to be honest I hated them nothing really inspiring at all and the camera is an absolute joke. Sometimes it zoomed out so you couldn't see what you were doing and the platforming don't even get me started on it. The multiplayer is boring and virtually the same as it was on the Beta unchanged and you can win by button mashing. A God of War game should never have online play. Just give me Challenge of the Gods and I am good to go.

In terms of where it's ranked I'd say it the worst one I have played. Chains of Olympus was okay,Ghost of Sparta was pretty good but the main trilogy is what God of War is about. The puzzles in this latest one are dull.  I am sorry but I was expecting it to be a solid entry but it seemed like they were just trying to make a prequel and make a story that sucks to fit into the timeline.

Honestly I got bored after Chapter 11 it felt like a drag. The enemies can be beaten easily and maxing out your magic is way easy to do.

Overall a lame entry in the series. Ah well looks like I can trade it in to get Bioshock Infinite in a weeks time.

Sick of games throwing in lame multiplayer when they really don't need it.

This is a bit of a rant going on about certain videogames that have come out that have thrown in lame multiplayer experiences and one of them I had to try just recently was Tomb Raider. There is absouletly nothing good about it the game lags it's easy to take down players and even if you have a higher level you get much superior abilities to use in combat. Xcom was another at one point I didn't even know what I was doing. I am also slightly annoyed at Naughty Dog throwing it in for The Last of Us because I don't think it will need it.

I mean within the last year loads of games seem to have thrown it in for what it seems like they think certain gamers won't go back and play the single player again. Games like Dishonored and the upcoming Bioshock Infinite proves that if you focus more on the single player it's more likely it will be better but to be honest Tomb Raiders multiplayer was not handled by Crystal Dynamics it was the people behind Deus Ex Human Revolution.

I don't have a thing with online leaderboards because games like Batman Arkham City has them it just lets you see how you rank in terms of a high score. I also like games like LittleBigPlanet where you can jump in and play through the game with a friend.

Now I don't know how good GOW Ascenion multiplayer will be just because I played the Beta but I shall give it a look. I think though if you are gonna make a game online don't do about 2 or 3 months before release like the people who did Tomb Raiders multiplayer.

I know I am mentioning Tomb Raider alot but the game has alot of replayaility it didn't need multiplayer but I thought I'd give it look but it is easy to see where the critics are coming from it isn't that memorable. I think games that incoporate multiplayer should make it that it's an even playing field games like Street Fighter,Mario Kart or Uncharted to name a couple.

I aren't saying I hate online because in fact I like it but make it at least memorable.

Differences between copying and taking inspiration from something else

With the new Tomb Raider out people have already jumped on the bandwagon of saying ooh it copyed Uncharted. This generation it might have learned taken inspiration from it but that's not copying it. I am guessing the people at Crystal Dynamics have seen Uncharted and maybe played one and thought maybe we could use some of these in game mechanics for our next installment. They are inspired by it.

Because Tomb Raider started in 1996 on the Playstation 1 and Uncharted didn't start till 2 generations later. Naughty Dog probably liked the in game mechanics by the people behind Tomb Raider and thought maybe we could use some of that in our game. I mean the cover system in Uncharted was probably inspired by the team that did Gears of War.

Uncharted has always been good at telling a story something the Tomb Raider franchise wasn't reknowned for and the shooting in Tomb Raider at the time was awful but the gunplay in the recent Tomb Raider is actually really good. I ean I think Tomb Raider has a bit of Assassins Creed with Survival Instincts,Batman with the tools you get throughout the game and Far Cry most likely.

I mean loads of games have had certain aspects from other series like Beyond Good and Evil that is a very good game which probably took some inspiration from the Zelda series. It's when something that becomes bad is a rip off I think. Sonic Unleashed the werehog stages are a God of War rip off.

The thing I am sick of is the forums are giving either Tomb Raider or Uncharted a hard time because either one is copying the other. Get over it they are both incredible games well worth the money you spent on it.

Tomb Raider first thoughts

Tomb Raider is the reboot as you can say and I shall be honest and say that I have been looking forward to this for a very long time and so far it hasn't dissapointed.

The game takes you to before Lara Croft became the world known treasure hunter she is and is seperated from her collegues after falling off when the ship falls apart. She is left battered and bruised and fighting for her life.

Whilst some will say the gameplay is to similar to Uncharted then maybe we could say that game was pretty much similar to Tomb Raider like finding trasures, puzzles and taking out enemies and climbing. I feel though the shooting and the camera in the old games like Underworld and Legend were a bit annoying at times and the shooting sucked as well but that has been sorted out now.

What I really love about the game so far is picking up tools as you progress because you had equipment with you at the start but hear you gain certain weapons and items for helping you progress. Also you get currency called Salvage which let's you upgrade your weapons and taking down enemies rewards you with experience which you can spend on various skills througout the game. Another thing is if you press the L2 trigger it does like a similar sort of thing to Assassins Creed 2 where it can show you certain things like enemies better by the red glow on them and that really helps in dark places.

What makes it really stand out is it's design the way Lara is actually physical adds to the game and it shows that she is really having a hard time being alone. It has things also that you find like artifacts and also various treasures. What I like about Tomb Raider unlike Uncharted is Lara is hardly accompanied by anyone I mean when your playing with Drake I love it when he's alone but majority of the time he isn't. I aren't saying Drake couldn't handle the whole adventure by himself I am just saying I just want Drake to be on his own more whereas Lara has mostly well from what I have seen in this game having to fight off enemies together.

Are there any things I don't like wll I have stumped across certain button prompts and to be honest I haven't really had a puzzle that's had me scratching my head. I haven't played the multiplayer yet but from what I have heard from critics it wasn't needed and to be honest I agree. I perfer my single player games.

Overall at the moment the reboot of Tomb Raider is excellent and I can't wait to experience more.

Assassins Creed IV titled Black Flag,Next Gen and rumored release date

Been a while since I did one but there has just been a new Assassins Creed game annouced as Black Flag which is the title of Assassins Creed 4 but it is actually gonna be the 7th in the series.

The release date has been rumor about the 29th October 2013 so that means it could maybe be a PS4 launch title or maybe it will be on PS3 as well. Probably most likely for the next XBOX console and I am not 100% sure on the Wii U but it would be the 5 Assassins Creed game to come out in 5 years on main systems no disrespect to PS Vita but Liberation wasn't that good. I don't want this game to be rushed to be launch title I want it to bring some much needed freshness into the next generation because while I love the series the last one did feel a bit deja vu and it could end up being a bit like COD a yearly release.

From what I have heard it is gonna take place on the open seas and have pirates in it I think. I don't now if this is just rumor or actually true. It shall be interesting to see what happens.

The Walking Dead Episode 1 thoughts

Having heard postive feedback regarding it as a downloadable episodic title I thought I would give it a look myself and here are my thoughts on the first episode of The Walking Dead.

What I really liked were most of the characters in the game it felt like you really cared for them and you were given some difficult questions to answer as well. What I also liked was how it looked as a downloadable title. My god the presentation is very good as well. I also liked the atmosphere and also you didn't have firearms that you had to basicaly use certain tools to defeat the monsters in the game. It felt like it had a bit of stealth so they couldn't see you and you also had to make a really tough decision at the end of the episode between saving 2 people. I also liked the stats at the end of the chapter showing you what other people did who play this game. Plus the little teaser at the end was like a good build up and wanting you to see what happens next.

I might do an Episode by Episode update of this game because I am really liking it and I just bought Episode 2 off the Playstation Store but haven't started it yet.

Dead Space 3 Demo,2 more pre orders and The Walking Dead

Another busy time gaming wise as I have played the recent demo of Dead Space 3 and I think it looked alrgiht nothing to fancy but the ability to customise your weapons is a nice feature. I think co - op is solid but not spectacular it could go either way. I am sure playing with a friend or someone else online will make it a good experience.

I did end up pre ordering Dead Space 3 and it does come out next Friday in EU and GOW Ascenion which hits the PS3 on the 15th March. The Beta was okay but not something I could see myself playing alot. I am interested in the story alot in the latest GOW game.

Also today I have decided to playthrough The Walking Dead Episodic releases on PSN I am currently on Episode 1 but so far it is a very interesting story based on a TV series and it seems to have bits of a few games ideas mixed into it. So far I am enjoying it and I think this could be one of my favorite downloads yet.

That's basically all I just thought I'd give you guys a quick update. HAPPY GAMING:D

New 3D Mario,2 Zelda games and Mario Kart Wii U bound

Having just read the latest article during the Nintendo Direct article there was mentions of a new 3D Mario game in the making from the team that gave us the Galaxy games.

Also mentioned was a HD remake of the LOZ the Wind Waker and another Zelda mentioned as well. Also Nintendo also mentioned Mario Kart Wii U and also a Yoshi game too.

Whilst I don't own a Wii U now this could push me into getting one maybe late 2013 or sometime in 2014 because a big Mario game is always welcome after a pretty lacklustre 2012 by the plumbers standards. I mean I love my 3D Mario fix hopefully we might see some footage soon.
