RE5 was the only game that did it. All other games didn't have the tearing issue. That game turned me off console a bit. Howver still play 360 for such games as Street Fighter 4.
PC is an occasional annoyance as well. Trying to play ARMA2 at decent frame rates, it's become more testing than playing.

Forgot to mention my annoyance with putting resident Evil 5 in my 360, and all movies had MASSIVE screen tearing. On PC if that happens you just turn VSync on and fixed. My point? PC you have a lot more control over your gaming. Case closed.
PC gaming has always been defined as the ultimate gaming experience but the more expensive one too. I have both 360 and PC, it all comes down to the game. FPS and RTS I go to my PC. Some RPG, fighting, racing etc I go to 360 for the comfort of the couch. GTA4 was tough in that PC looked better, but 360 had the excellent DLC. More and more games are getting tougher to choose between PC and 360. Do I want better graphics or relaxation on the couch? Also have Wii for the other half, although the graphics make me want to spew.
Advantage of console though is game stores do tradeins on the games. PC your stuck with it forever.
As long as they go back to the old Mechwarrior, and not dumb it down. Those were the days where evn the original Mechwarrior sort of felt like a flight sim, what with all the controls and keypresses. If they are going all platforms then keep PC version away from console crowd.
So by Steam now selling these, I take it they have updated the code in all these games to just run without problems in Windows Vista and Windows 7?
Only complaint about the Wii is how sore I feel after playing such games as Grand Slam tennis with the M+.
Also what monitor do you have? Updating your graphics card to the later models, you should have a at least a 22" with 1680x1050 resolution minimum. The 4870 video cards etc run better with high resolutions.
Steam will stay forever. It's a good place for keeping games in order. Only thing is unlike boxed retail, it's hard to play and sell. My concern is, what will happen to my games if in say 10 years something happens and Steam closes.
Logitech G5 gaming mouse is a very nice gaming mouse with high repsonse and nice feel. Like how you can put the weights in it to suit your feel. In terms of keyboards, if you lan a lot with not much lighting, then an illuminated keyboard does help. The Logitech G15 is a good keyboard. Try to find revision 1 over revision 2. Prefer rev 1 which had blue illumination compared to the ugly orange in rev2. The macro keys you can bind to each game are near the WASD keys which makes instant weapon changing etc very easy and quick, once you get used to it. And no I don't work for Logitech, I just have been using these models for a long time now without a problem.
After coming back from the future my analyse of game specs that are in the future are:-
Crysis 2 - Intel i12 with Nvidia GTX1205 or ATI 8750 HD
Doom 4 - Intel i11 with Nvidia GT1100 or ATI 8600 HD
Rage - Bluray, Intel i11 with Nvidia GTX1150 or ATI 8700
Sorry, but noone can tell you what will be needed to properly play those games. However in reality if you went Quad or preferably I7 with 4Gb RAM and a ATI 4870 or equivalent Nvidia card you should be right. You can get a $800 video card like 4870x2 similar, but video cards are the PC item that can become outdated quicker than stale bread.
