Being in the industry myself selling computers to corporate and education, i might think hard and count one business that said yes to Vista. All the rest asked me about downgrading to WinXP. One company in the Real Estate industry said that it will cost them in excess of $100k just to update their software to run in Vista. Education in Australia chucked up a stink about Vista that many major companies have rolled back to XP for them. So what happens with the XP phase out? You can't discontinue something that many MAJOR corporations in Australia rely so heavily on. I myself like Vista but think it is too soon to discontinue XP.

[QUOTE="chrispn"]One post says that they dumbed Bioshock down for the console. Huh? Then how come the PC version has more options to disable quest arrows, autoaim etc? More like they dumbed the console version down.Erlkoenig

This part doesn't make any sense.

My wording is a bit weird....I'll try to explain. Due to the limitations with consoles and gamepads they made autoaim happen where you are nearly guaranteed you will hit the enemy when pointing at him. On the PC version they changed that feature (in the options) so it's closer to a PC FPS. This is one example anyways. They didn't just do a direct port, which unfortunately more and more game companies are seeming to do.
Both are good games, but longetivity is lacking a bit. My problem I know is all the expectations I had prior to release of these games.

Having played both, I have found both are linear, both when released had nifty graphics and sound effects. Bioshock and HL2 were fun to play, but both now sit in the cupboard gathering dust. I can't say either is better than the other. Both are just hopping on a rollercoaster ride where you have no choices. Maybe games such as Farcry and Oblivion have spoilt me in this regard. The gaming industry as a whole definitely needs some new originality. One post says that they dumbed Bioshock down for the console. Huh? Then how come the PC version has more options to disable quest arrows, autoaim etc? More like they dumbed the console version down.I wish they stuck to the style of the excellent System Shock though. That was a gaming masterpiece.
That's all I will say now, while I now go and hideunder deskwaiting for the HL2 fanboys to shotgun me in the head. :)
