@WillyWynn Crysis 2+: consoles, what do you expect when a game requiring latest cutting edge hardware needed to do compromises for console releases? Don't get me wrong, I love console games too, but because of the state of the market, the original crysis did not sell well as PC enthusiasts were crying over why their rigs can't play the future and console gamers got the (admittedly deserved) impression their PCs can never run this game. It was a sales problem and they had to go to consoles, with the compromises that means, the game is by no means really bad, just not as crazy open as the first entries.
@Ferg1213 Crysis 1 and Warhead are some of the best shooters ever made, evolving gameplay, multiple strategies, variety, wide open environments. The story was a bit weak, but the gameplay was and still is top notch. Ever since Crysis had to reduce itself to work on dated consoles these issues cropped up, but Kevin does not seem to dislike the gameplay in this one, just that it stays easy and lacks major boss battles, the overall gameplay is being praised quite well in fact.
@petez34 That's going to be a tough one, while The Witcher 3 is definitely going to look amazing as per CD Projekt Red's track record, Crytengine is light years ahead of most engines and most companies just cannot match them in terms of visuals at least for a few years to come while they develop and scale up to the same level.
@petez34 @adrianjarca @TerrorRizzing A line from Red Dead Redemption: "Vanity is a trait we inherited from the British". Now if early 20th century lore is correct, there was a time when alcohol was too expensive for the British to stay drunk at all times. Hence, the historical trait having persisted to this day in the public's eye can be said to be still prevalent, despite being buried under a few layers of puke. I do agree that the French can be snobby too, no wonder those 2 nations were at war for so long!
@unreal101 @chronocommander @constantin Thanks for the analysis, the AI is designed for the strengths of the game, I wonder when the day with hybrid actually learning AI will come, would add a whole new layer to just about any game!
One day, someone is going to make a client of clients for all these different digital stores and there will be peace on the digital storespace as it will also include a built-in price comparison tool and one-click install for all your library. At last count, I have more than half a dozen such services in use, many of them with their own clients and separate content library. Given the kind of discounts on PC though, this kind of minor inconvenience is not too much of an issue!
