@Harbinger_CR @clynch0527 @smoke1125 My first 360 was going on the fritz, so before it did, my friend wanted buy a ps3. I traded mine in, he gave me his 360, the credit went towards his ps3. That one lasted me a while because it was when they started putting HDMI in all of them. That was about when the RRoD problems started slowing down. I later got the Slim, and it was a beautifully constructed piece of hardware. I'm definitely going with the PS4 this time around. Two PS3's and a PS4..I'm sure I'll have my fun for a long time.
@dandeeswish @smoke1125 not to mention, what a lot of people failed to realize back then. Sony had a blu ray player, and was $600. Then MS announced the $200 HD-DVD player on top of the $400 price tag of the 360. Plus having to buy a play and charge kit to have a rechargable battery, so an extra $20, unless you anted to spend hundreds per year on batteries. And a $60/yr online subscription. The 360 was actually a more expensive console in long terms. But yes, most of that stuff was optional, making it cheaper in simple terms.
@smoke1125 @clynch0527 @Harbinger_CR I like the playstation better in terms of exclusives. God of War, MGS4, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted are just more appealing to me. I can play the other games on either console. Halo and Gears just aren't that great. The first ones were, but now they suck. Plus I have a PC, so a lot of the games that I would want to play, that are on both of those consoles, are on PC as well. The only exclusive Im looking at for the X1, is Fable IV, unless they decide to make it for PC.
@smoke1125 @clynch0527 @Harbinger_CR No doubt the online experience isnt great, but its not like you can cry over it when it's free. Maybe with the new gaikai servers, and ps+ being required, it'll improve. Personally, in the games I played, I never had problems. Socom 2 was by far the best online experience I ever had on the ps2.
@smoke1125 @Harbinger_CR Not to mention, and still not hating on the xbox. I'm sure there were millions of people forced to buy a new 360 due to the console getting the RROD during that time that Microsoft wasn't doing anything about it. Or those people who bought another one not even thinking about contacting Microsoft and just buying a new one. I'm sure all those sales are being counted as well.
@smoke1125 @Harbinger_CR actually, if you look at the latest sales, the PS3 has overtaken the Xbox, but not by much. I'd say its impressive for a console that came out more expensive and a year later. I'm not hating on the Xbox, but even if it was just a little behind the Xbox, that would still be very impressive.
I think my comment after this got deleted somehow. But anyways, this was not an attack at the Xbox, it's a great console, and I would love to see them continue to beef it up. Competition is great for business, and the changes should be welcomed by everyone.
This isn't an attack at the Xbox, I do want to see it do well. Competition is a great thing, and anything they can do to beef up the system, should be welcomed by all.
