And so the twenteens begin.
The last decade was really too good for me. dreamcast through ps2, xbox, gamecube and to the 360 and wii revolution, Its never been such an exciting and brilliant time for us gamers. Some of , if not all of the best games of all time were released over the last decade. And not only that but the industry saw leaps not only in quality and creativity unlike those seen in any other time. even compared to other industrys.
Beyond good and evil, skies of arcadia, metal gear solid 3, resident evil 4, final fantasy 12, halo, street fighter 4, left 4 dead, little big planet, psyconauts, fable 2, half life 2, portal, katamari, no more heroes, devil may cry 3, burnout paradise, super smash brothers brawl, wario ware and so many many more.
Just attempting to think of all the great games we gamers got over the last ten years in enough to melt the brain into a pool of delighted mush.
Yet with the new decade there comes a worry. After such a long and productive time for the industry and with the world still on unstable ground financially theres less and less chance of such creative and experimental ground. I would even expect less games to be put into production over the next few years when compared to this time last decade. Not only this but theres a longer home life for the current generation of games consoles. This means less console development and less chances of creative leaps in the games themselves. Thankfully natal and pswii (that ps3 wand thing) will provide a little insperation for our future games, But the wii has already become stale, and these new enhancements to our current geniration of consoles are olny going to provide short term boosts to our consoles lives. Soon they will become just another boring add on, or worse another ubisoft fitness dressup petcare simulator.
shudder*
So onto the first month of the first year of the twenteens, and what upcoming games are you all most looking forward to and what ideas do you have for the future of games?? what would you like to see?
