@Fartman7998 I'm not a huge AC fan, I've been thinking I should dive into it more at some point, but the visual design of the new one turns me off a little, hence the waiting.
@shadowheart7 There weren't very many tanks in WW1 and not until 1917, also I would imagine that AC would take place more behind the lines, in capitals or inside headquarters as theres no way one man could influence the Somme from the trenches! Think about it though, just in terms of the raw historical import of WW1; the Russian Revolution, the death of the central european monarchies, the millions of dead from war, famine and disease; its such a rich environment for the sort of playing with history AC is famous for. I'll bet money it happens eventually.
Fans are going to hate me for this, but I just can't get past the character design on this one, a white hooded frock coat? I gurantee you, no garment remotely like that was ever made in the eighteenth century, or any century for that matter. Its such a silly way to cram in the visual iconography, couldn't they have worked over a tri-corner hat to bear the Assasin's A design or something? Ehh, might skip this and wait for them to get to the 1880s or World War 1 or something.
I think thats a logical decision, but I don't like courts getting anywhere close to issuing decisions about the content of games (or any media for that matter). If the game physically doesn't work thats one thing, but having the content of a game in any way subject to legal scrutiny is a slippery slope my friends. Maybe you feel you ripped off by the crappiness of ME3, maybe you feel betrayed by BioWare and EA but does anyone really want courts making determinations to that effect?
@pcty YES. It does seem a little overblown doesn't it? Like we at Megabux Game Corp care so much about the soldiers that we are going to make this highly profitable product to honor them, thats the point, not the money, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
@dalua360 How is the unrealism of consequence free death in military FPS games not relevant? Its entirely relevant and there are games that handle this mechanic better than the current crop of CoD clones, such as ARMA, Red Orchestra or the original Brother in Arms and Tom Clancy games (though not their current gen incarnations). Also that wasn't your point, your point was that Tom McShea doesn't have military experience, therefore doesn't know anything about combat therefore he should shut up, thats mainly what Im seeing on this thread that I object to. If you disagree with his argument then fine, just respect his right to make it is all I'm saying
@dalua360 He knows that regenerating health is unrealistic as I think anyone with a brain can deduce, combat experience is not necessary. Again, your argument is "SHUT UP!" You're saying if you don't have military experience then SHUT UP! I say grow up.
