Because it's war. War is a place where civilized men can turn into ruthless killers. Besides, if we were allowed to kill others (without punishment) in reg. society, wouldn't society turn into a warzone itself?who made up this rule God did not state any exceptions to the rule so why theexception

That's not a choice! >.I would say love is the closest option to the emotion I would get rid of, I woudn't get rid of love itself. I'd get rid of caring. Not of empathy or understanding, as those have uses aside from caring, but of caring.

No, being fearless means having no fear. It doesn't mean having no common sense. Just because I don't fear the damage a bullet could do to me doesn't mean I'm going challenge it.[QUOTE="cpo335"]

Being completely fearless means you have no sense of what can harm you, like others have mentioned in this thread already. If you got rid of fear, you would run straight out into a hail of gunfire, because you would not be afraid of the fact that it could possibly kill you.
Anger is the only of the five that actually has a negative impact on the human experience. Fear prevents us from jumping into things we shouldn't. Love is obvious. Joy is obvious. And sadness helps us realize our emotional pain and grow from mistakes.Puscifer_No1
But you wouldn't care though. Cause that initial thought about being shot comes from Fear. Thinking about how painful it would be to be shot also derives from Fear. If you were fearless you wouldn't think about the pain the comes from being shot.
But I would know what it is like to be shot because I have seen others who ahve gotten shot. I would know that it isn't a good thing so I wouldn't want to experience it because it isn't a good thing.[QUOTE="cpo335"]There's a fine line between common sense and being scared... [QUOTE="cpo335"]Fear. I want to be a soldier when I get older and anger would be a bad thing to lose if I am ever in combat, but fear necessarily would not be. So fear (besides, fear leads to anger - no fear = no anger).foxhound_fox
Being able to maintain a level head would be a bad thing? There's a fine line between common sense and being scared... Just because I am fearless doesn't mean I'm going to run out into a hail of gunfire...
