The 3D printing business is finally becoming competitive as the major 3DSystems patents begin to expire. One downside of having one player (Oculus Rift) so far in the lead is that they will have the ability to block all the promising technical approaches with sleeping patents. I have no reason to think they'd do that but it is the "rational" thing to do.
It sounds like the franchise is taking some steps to get back on track. After being harvested like pigs to slaughter by so many publishers and franchises lately it's nice to see at least one listening to their customers.
@kyphe @cratecruncher In the whole series Morrowind was my favorite. I got on pretty good with Vivec but that Almalexia gal got way outa line and I had to put her down. Good times....
@McGregor @neowarrior121 @DarkLight748 With a pc you can also go back and try playing the classic era games, often modded with graphics updates. With so many crappy new games lately that's become really important to me. Try doing that on your PS4.
I sunk over 200 hours into Skyrim just on side quests. The only downside of is that by the time you finally get around to playing the main quest your character is so powerful there's not much challenge.
I did the same thing in Morrowind. The final battle was over so fast I thought it was bugged.
I guess this topic falls under "suspended disbelief". We have to make a truce with the writers that we'll overlook their departure from real life if they'll entertain us. Another stealth trope I find funny is the instantaneous death from a back stabbing. If someone stabbed me in the back I'd scream out like a banshee then run like hell.
I heard in Australia the punch game has killed 66 people this year. Many died from the blow their head took when they hit the ground after the punch initially knocked them unconscious.
First, kudos to Kevin and Gamespot for calling this game as they see it. the more fundamental question is why are so many big-budget AAA titles missing their mark lately? Conspiracies are fun but no publisher is interested in poor reception. There has to be a breakdown in the development cycle somewhere. Wrong assumptions are being made by people who should know better.
I've been watching the Kickstarter game devo for months now. While I think a game's creativity can be stifled by too much fan involvement, there does seem to be a benefit to at least some.
I was anticipating Thief and expected it to score well because they had claimed to have listened to fan feedback after a less than enthusiastic response to an early game footage trailer.
@ThePlantain Headshots aren't as lethal as you think. Congress member Gabby Giffords was shot in the forehead by a psycho in Arizona and is on the road to a full recovery. The heart shot causes cardiovascular cavitation. The brain blacks out within seconds due to a lack of oxygen. If something must be killed it's probably the quickest and most humane.
