@sodapoppimpski: Having "pro baked in from day 1" just means the game was patched for the Pro before it was released. Like I said COD development cycles are 3 years and 3 years ago the PS4 wasn't even released so they wouldn't have been work on a 'pro' version as well as even the concept of the PS4 Pro didn't exist! I bet the graphics for Battlefield 1 are better than the PS4 Pro version of COD.
What Sony should have done is released a first party game showing of the Pro's capability.
@sodapoppimpski: But COD has been in development way before the PS4 Pro was announced, it has a 3 year development cycle. Also COD has always been poor for graphics, on the ps3/xbox 360 most of their games weren't even 720p!
@sodapoppimpski: Did you not read all my comment. I said "when new games come out that are built with the PS4 Pro in mind you should see a much bigger difference compared to an old game that has been patched."
You need to give developers some time to utilise the power of the PS4 Pro!
@p3rrypm: I'm not sure about that, from my personal experience the majority of people I knew who brought a PS3 wasn't cause of the BD player. It definitely would have helped the sales, however if the PS3 didn't have it, it would have been considerably cheaper so they may have actually sold more devices without it, as the price was a major complaint about it.
@ArchoNils2: I get your point and can see where your coming from. I think the issue however is gamers who are hardcore and are willing to spend lot's of money on gaming often prefer PC gaming.
Introducing a really high end PS4 may work, but by adding a PS4 that only costs a little more than the standard version but more then twice as powerful maybe Sony are hoping that it'll entice much more PS4 owners to upgrade.
I do agree that an $800 more powerful PS4 would be cool, however the majority of people don't have a 4k TV, so the cost of a new TV and a high end PS4 adds up to a lot as well.
@ArchoNils2: Since when is Sony acting like this console is only for hardcore gamers? Just because they add Pro at the end of the name doesn't mean it's for "pro gamers" as that's a very limited market. Many product now-a-days use the word 'pro' in their products to show it's higher end version of a current device of theirs that already exists.
Consoles are designed to appeal to the mass market and at $800 it would appeal to a lot less people. I'm glad you not in the Sony marketing department, cause you'd be leading a sinking ship. You may not care about the price, but most consumers do, what you want doesn't necessarily represent the majority.
@ArchoNils2: Why would they build the PsVr box into the Pro, think of the additional cost for Sony for each unit made, for something the majority of Pro owners won't use and how does the lack of 4k Blu Ray effect hardcore players who are primarily interested in gaming? Also for that price point you can't expect more powerful hardware, it is already very well priced.
The inclusion of a 3.5" HDD would have been nice though.
