[QUOTE="crucifine"][QUOTE="Neoyamaneko"]How does Bioshock qualify? The player is treated like the main character in the world while not breaking the drama and realism in the game. Also, Rapture is never exposed as a playground for the player's pleasure. Atlas doesn't even tell you to press certain controller buttons to manipulate things in the world.AtomicTangerine

Once you get to Andrew Ryan, you realize that you've been suckered into following Fontaine's instructions the entire time. Not Jack, the players themselves. It's a bit metaphysical and deterministic. It took me a few hours to work out the devs were playing a huge joke on us.

That needs a spoiler tag... and I think you're putting pieces together that aren't there. Like you have to follow his instructions because the game is totally linear. They promised a big world where things happened wether or not you were there. Instead, the game ended up being a corridor crawl. That would be quite the surprise if one of the worst things about the game turned out to be intentional.

Well, the topic said *contains spoilers* so I just let it stay that way. And I'm not putting it together from pieces that aren't there. It's incredibly linear because you're following Atlas' 'requests'. I know nothing would happen if you refused, but the only way to progress in the game is to submit to his will.

Many of my comments have been expressed. Most haven't given it enough time. I was ready to go back to Oblivion 30 minutes after renting it, but for some reason I kept dredging away. I found myself 2 hours later enthralled in stacking weapons and armor, making potions, traps, bombs, and looting peoples cribs. Five days later I found myself buying it.

I love it! It has a few flaws but not that Morrowind or Oblivion didn't either. As my man said earlier, "It doesn't hold your hand like Oblivion!" You have to make some difficult choices on what weapons and armor to keep and stack as-well as what you wish to mold your character into. You can be the good guy or the bad guy. Take over or just go along with it all. I found myself for the first time questioning a decision to make in a game, do I let the Skeldon House hold this chick in prison or do I help her escape?! The guard warned me she had a way with words. I should have just left, maybe I might have a standing in the Skeldon House besides my current 0/10. Or maybe the Skeldon House is really the bad guys that I want to be working against. The choice was mine and it felt good actually having the choice! And you can choose to help or hurt anyone. It doesn't guide you "hold your hand" like every other RPG has openly or not so openly as Oblivion did!

If you think this game sucks! Turn off your 360! Read the entire Two Worlds manual and then restart the game/ or resume if you are satisfied with your previous choices. Play for 2 hours and stay North of the river. Collect herbs and minerals(they weigh nothing to you/they do take up space however) you can use them to help people out or to make killer traps, bombs, and potions. You can even create potions that permanently increase abilities, instead of just getting the lousy 5 points to disperse every level gain. Increase sneaking and lockpicking to help you loot some nice junk to make some cash. Learn the screens and controls, and I am sure you will be out buying it or keeping the one you are thinking about getting rid of.

PS - Get a horse also! They make a nice traveling suitcase. My first one held 400 pounds of junk, this new mare carries 500!

Like I said, I'm not disappointed with the gameplay half. I'm disappointed with the presentation half, which was just abysmal.

I only look to reviews if I'm very iffy about making a purchase. I usually read Gamespot or Game Informer for those.

They're a good beach read. Meaning it's a page-turner without a whole lot of actual meat. Obviously, it's written for Dungeons and Dragons nerds everywhere, but I feel like it's below me to be reading it sometimes. The whiny bits Drizzt does don't add much to the story, plotlines are relatively simple, and the characters are somewhat one-dimensional. It's good and all, but I'd never pay to own a copy, when there's a library within 5 minutes of my house.

That being said, I do have to agree: Jarlaxle is probably the most badass non-hero I've ever read.

You either a) pirate them or b) import them or c) find a sex shop and see if they have them. Not likely in USA, you'll probably have to go with a or b. There are a few AO games that get censored down to M before they come over, like Indigo Prophecy and The Witcher.

If it's the first three star wars movies, then star wars. If it's the second three (in order of their release, not chronology), then Lord of the Rings. If it's all six, then Lord of the Rings.

Augury. Not enough people listen to these guys...Anomalous, Appalling Spawn, Lytkathea Aflame, Cynic, Impetigo, Intestine Baalism, Baroness (sorta...), Kronos, Negativa, Tholus, and a dozen or so other bands that border on melo-death.

Just trying to cover what hasn't been hit yet.
