I've seen Cannibal Holocaust and Brain Dead, and I was pretty surprised by John Rambo (the newest one).

It wasn't a Kyuss concert, so I don't care.

John Rambo, the most over-the-top violent and 80's-tastic war film I've ever seen.

Zack and Miri Make A Porno, which was pretty funny.

I'm A Cyborg But That's OK, probably my favorite romantic comedy ever.

And I've got Satantango ready to watch sometime before next semester. Now I just have to find a 7-1/2 hour block where I'm not doing anything.

Limbs on Agalloch's Against the Grain. It sets the tone for the rest of the album and is a totally killer track.

Complete is the best band ever. They've taken music and turned it into something else. Don't let the live shows fool you, they were kind of drunk. They had eached finished a keg by themselves before going on stage.

http://www.thesirenssound.com is your friend. I'm not gonna bother listing stuff here, my post-rock collection is pretty big.

Gah, Activision, you're the harbinger of doom for the game industry. Franchising everything will only end in tears.

Anyway, Tiesto is pretty bad, and doesn't use a turntable much.

Shadow and Frane, on the other hand...

I'm fed up with people bashing them. You work a 60-hour workweek for 8 months in a row because your parent company ordered you to and try to make something as good as Call of Duty 3. I know it's not as good as IW's, but it wasn't terrible and the fact they did it in 8 months is an achievement, not something to be ashamed of.

This is England gets really powerful towards the end. American History X is just a showcase of Norton's talents in a pretty ok film.clembo1990

This. The director all but disowned the film (he tried to get credited as Humpty Dumpty, but due to his publicly talking about why he wanted to change the credit he wasn't allowed to), he was furious that Edward Norton was allowed to cut up his film. Now, the film is less about racism than it is about the effect a guy can have on his younger brother.

1. Werckmeister Harmonies (that scene in the hospital is so hauntingly beautiful, there are no words)

2. Oldboy (I wouldn't put this so high now, but it basically got me interested in foreign cinema and had a huge impact on me when I first saw it)

3. City of God (I am never traveling to Rio if I can avoid it)

4. Syndromes and a Century (I want to travel to Thailand)

5. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (just really good)

6. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring (a beautiful exercise in minimal dialogue)

7. I'm A Cyborg, But That's Ok (the best romantic comedy I've ever seen)

8. The Lives of Others (funny how obsessions can change things)

9. Wall-E (possibly the best animated film this decade)

10. Shaun of the Dead (best use of long take in a comedy, plus zombies)
