@stanknuggetz12 There's a huge difference between using it when I want, and being forced to have it connect for no reason other than data collect and essentially rob me of my game ownership.

@stanknuggetz12 Competition is great. It's a good time to be a gamer with so many choices. That's why I get annoyed at fanboys. Don't root for the demise of the console you don't own lol. Imagine if XBox One were the ONLY choice we had. No Sony, no Nintendo, no Android, no PC. We'd be stuck giving in to Microsoft's crappy requirements or not game.

So regarding the free games they give away for the paid PSN+... Are they cumulative? In other words if I buy a subscription now will I get all the free games they've given out up to this point, or is it a time-window deal where you can download one per month then it's not available after that etc?

@sa2bmaster @cryofax Those free games so far any good? How often do they release them? (I'm assuming they already do this on the PS3 paid network)

@bignick217 If people had a fit about Xbox Live Sony would never do this. But consumers have shown they'll pay for it, so of course they are. Sony and MS do incur more cost since they moderate/matchmake every game on the console (even though the games THEN run on a server/client setup between consoles). STEAM offloads much more of that to the game servers of the developers.

Though when this "STEAM console" comes out I won't be surprised if they charge a fee for it like this.

@HowlPendragon This kind of post makes me sad for humanity. You realize you're BETTER off if both companies release a good console.Do you own Sony? No. You're just a number to them. So yeah I'm thrilled the PS4 is going the direction it is overall, but I'm not happy they are going to a paid network. And your response is to call Xbox users "fags". Well, this IS "bad" compared to what we had before.
