Gaming in general has gotten dumbed down. Maps are linear, "puzzles" so easy an infant could do them. RPG quests used to involved much more dialogue, exploring, THINKING. Now it's just "follow the glowing dot on your map to the next thing to kill". No brain required. I think when you get a quest you should have to explore and find the people you need to talk to, gather information and make some intelligent observations/conclusions. Nowadays games just lead you to the next challenge with lighted footprints on the floor. And 10 hours passes for a "long game". Try the Ultima 7 : The Black Gate or Baldur's Gate 2 if you want to know what a real RPG is.
