Boring, generic characters. A forgettable story, and a bland ''world''. The combat was ok i guess? Like, think of the iconic set pieces of the older games. 12 had nothing.
There is no sticky so I might as well create a new thread, especially that I'll probably be the only System Warrior to be this vocal in my disappointment.
I will sum um the root cause of my disappointment in just one line:
THE SAME FUCKING ANCIENT ENGINE WITH THE SAME FUCKING LIMITATIONS
[EDIT: OH, WELL AND THEN THERE'S THIS]:
THE SAME CLICHED POST-WAR REACTIONARY VIBE REFERENCING BEATNIK ERA - SUCH A CLICHE :(
And I don't even have graphics in mind when I refer to the engine.
The ENTIRE concept of the Fallout series is that it's a post-apocalyptic game with a post war twist. You expected them to change the entire concept of the franchise? AND you think that your complaint is actually legitimate? lol. Do you expect the next Elder Scrolls game to be set in Tokyo in the year 3000?
I enjoy the Fallout games as much as the next guy, but i'd hardly say it's close to be the most anticipated game of the last 5 years. It's not like it's Half-Life 3.
The Witcher and Metal Gear have it beat for sure. The hype for Mass Effect 3 was insane too. And Skyrim isn't even 5 years old and TES series is more popular than the Fallout series.
It's pretty ridiculous that over a year into it's launch the PS4 lacks the ability to plus and play from a usb. I'm tired of using my laptop and HDMI cable.
The reboot was pretty great, but buy a whole new console for it great? lol no. I am in no hurry to play the sequel. It wouldn't be day one for me even if i owned a bone anyway.
@Planeforger: Seriously? Since MGS 1 blew up on the Ps1.
The only franchises i'd say that are bigger are Mario, Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, Halo and Zelda. Staying strictly to consoles.
Call of Duty? Wii? Final Fantasy? FIFA? Assassin's Creed?
Obviously if we include every game from those franchises. But as solo performances on top of critical acclaim? No. Metal Gear Solid 4 sold far far more than FF 13 on the PS3.
