I don't know, i've had my new gaming rig for a month now. and about 70% of the time i install a game(steam or not) i have errors, crashes and problems. Even starcraft 2 i had problems with. Installers crashing, games not installing properly. I have always had bad luck with glitches(console pc or whatever), but all i ever have is problems with my pc(which is ONLY used for gaming, not even 'net browsing). In the end, I always find a solution online. sometimes fast, sometimes it takes 1hr plus. I know this isn't typical of every pc gamer, but for me it is. I had to reinstall steam alone 3 times to get it functioning properly. Then there was the constantly re-updating my games that had already been updated... Then there were save file issues when transferring. Most of the blizzard installers/downloaders i have used have caused me nothing but grief(ESPECIALLY the diablo3 beta). -=-= All in all i love my new pc, but i know how to tweak things and fix stuff. Many people don't... or just don't want the ****ing hassle. With my xbox i plop a disc in, a 3-4mb patch and im ready to play. My ps3 usually fine, however my internet sucks and the 1gb+ updates are LAME, but still, power on + play for the most part. For many PC is just not the answer. I have never just turned my console off, then on the next day and had a game unable to run for some stupid reason... just my 2cents
anytime sheep talk about "milkage" and "generic" or "cookie cutter" games i lol inside. a lot. = seriously, wake up, go google how many mario games/mario themed games there are. no company besides nintendo has over used a mascot to that degree. no one. It's not that mario is bad... but just look at their top selling hardware and other than wii play/wii fit how many have "mario" in the title? -=- But i see how a series like CoD is "MILKED TO DEATH". You may not like it, but obviously many do.. just like mario games. ;)
So did you make this thread the SECOND you hit level 10? lol. If you don't keep the disc slot "bristles) clean, they are BOUND to make tiny scratches. Just like car Cd players that get dirty. VERY rarely do these scratches hinder playback. - and yes xboxes can scratch discs too. :P Seriously though, I have never liked slot loading drives for this very reason. I still have my starcraft1/diablo1/warcraft 2 discs(launch copies) and they are spotless. I like keeping my stuff imaculate :)
Meh, under the old TOU i would get suspensions/point loss for even just posting a ":)".. I made a comment while arguing is SW like "yeah bring the whole family down to "Druggernauts House of fun" and i got a major suspension for advertising?!?! I fought it, asked mods, etc and was told that i can't advertise. The MOD in question told me that it was clearly an ad, and i should feel lucky i didn't get worse punishment... Said Mod is no longer here :) but I am LOL - While the troll topics are annoying, I LIKE BEING ABLE TO ACTUALLY ARGUE WITH PEOPLE. Which is the POINT of SW. They made so many rules I couldn't disagree with anyone without getting mod'ed.. Just like them trying to make me change my name. My name violates NO TOU I have come across on any service, but some mod's get their **** in knots over people. lol - For the record: My name is Dr. Uggernaut if any iffy mod asks ;)
I have to say I love my ps3, but the system software/updating/maintainence sucks. But hey MS = software company, sony = hardware company. I live on the outskirts of town and my internet sucks. Having bought a new ps3 slim, some games, i rushed home plugged it in to play, and every game i tried had between 500mb-1.2gb of updates!?!?!? WTF is that? Got my wife stoked to play heavy rain, and then plop it in and find out i have a 2 hour download ahead of me.. :( Everything aside from this is awesome with ps3 however.. just the installs/software/updating systems need to be fixed/changed.
Lol at lems who think Sony is going out of business, I know it may make you happy in that small box of a world you live in, but it's not going to happen. Only in your dreams guys, the stock market goes up and down all the time.
But I really don't care, I play games and I don't give a sh!t about how much Sony makes or loses. Only Lemmings do because that's all they have left to argue about, they have lost officially lost SW. Pretty sad.

I don't believe that sony is "doomed" or anything, but LOL @ Cows that act like this isn't a big deal... Look at their year over year losses... it's NOT a good thing. If anything they will reign in spending on "riskier" forays.. such as new, unproven IPs in gaming. This worries me a lot, as it should anyone. And any Lem that thinks sony going out of business is a good thing needs to get their head checked. COMPETITION = GOOD for consumers. = Here's to sony turning around, and hopefully not (just) focusing on gaming/digital imaging/mobile... they are worth soo much more than that..
Just to clarify: When nintendo does it? = GOOD/GREAT/AMAZING When Activision/ubisoft etc do it? = The end of the world/MILKING/ripping off customers. I know you don't HAVE to buy both games. It still doesn't make sense. I don't see many "adults" running around playgrounds trading pokemon. And YES most pokemon game fans i know have bought EVERY copy that comes out. It really doesn't bother me they do this, I just wish nintendo fans wouldn't flame other companies for doing the same. You were trolling. Only a blind idiot could not see that they offer a wide variety of IPs in a wide variety of genres. They do Marios in a wide variety of genres, therefore they only do Marios. PS: Where did everyone get this idea that nintendo catered to the "hardcores"??? When was mario/zelda/donkey kong anything "core"?? I grew up on NES/SNES/N64 etc, but at no point did nintendo come off as hardcore to me? I mean, it was the SNES version of Mortal Kombat that had the blood removed even, wasn't it? -=-=-=- Nintendo has always made good games, and stayed faithful to their roots. I just grew up and my gaming tastes changed. I don't know why everyone expects nintendo to drop what they've done for 20+ years and make ultra-difficult/deep/violent mature titles... it just doesn't make sense. I tried to get into angry birds, given everyone around me have been raving about it forever. I finally download it, and withing 5 mins find myself saying, "why is everyone so obsessed with this game??". It's not flawed or bad, just painfully simple and repetitive. I just don't usually understand gaming fads etc. Congrats to the devs for their success and all, but its just not for me. I was playing crap like chaos rings etc on my phone instead of this. :)
