...dominate this gen and next in games. Just like this gen, and the prior, and the one before that.

http://uk.gamespot.com/news/sony-focusing-on-games-to-revitalize-6371334

Now that MS and Ninty have succumb to the casualization cancer, Sony will be the only co. left focusing on the core gamer. You can keep your sales. I'll keep the games. The Domination Continues.

To bad all you "core" ps3 users don't seem to buy those amazing "core" games you keep pimping. Seriously, support our devs, BUY THE GAMES AT LAUNCH(if they are worth it). Seriously though, leave it to a cow to spin this into future-altering positivity. PS3 "core" exclusives have not sold nearly as well as they should've given how cows claim most ps3 owners are "hardcore players". Wouldn't that at least = more that 5.5 mill sales? oh wait, gt5 got 7.5 mill or so. Halo 3??: 11.5 mill. But it's not like Gran turismo has a huge following and years of build up/hype... oh wait, it did?!? LOL XD

Also, from what i have seen(with exceptions like gog.com) all digital downloads are DRM laden.. I know there are ways to "work around this", but seriously, I don't like anything like that. What blizz has done with the "always connected" diablo etc is not cool. DRM = lame, and for the most part Digital Downloadable games = DRM.

Meh, digital only is a lasting joke to me. I like blizzards current system. You buy the "physical" copy and add it to your B.Net account and you can re-download the 'client' whenever needed. Much better, best of both worlds. The download only thing would be okay, but what happens when the company you bought your games from goes out of business, or just(like the license agreement says) stop offering it for download at ANY TIME?? well sir, you would be out a game. -=-=-=- 100% digital means no more game stores... i don't like thems apples. No only on an employment level, but just like a comic book store, nothing beats having ACTUAL people to discuss stuff in RL with. Hey, maybe even meet a gaming friend or two. I know hermits tend to be just as their name implies, but seriously, it's not bad having to leave your houses you know.

Also, the ONLY video game store in my town mainly makes $$$ off their used games. If they didn't have that, we would not have a video game store. That would make me a SAAAAD panda. Not to mention how many jobs are created through the used industry. IMAGINE how many layoffs there would be if all used game selling stores shut down..

Obviously pre orders like assassins creed is getting show the opposite. The game industry is not "suffering" as they are making it seem. The problem lies in the fact that they see the millions/billions in used sales, and are saying "that should be ours". they do not take into account how few of those people would have probably bought their game. The industry is making good money, the problem is they just want MORE money. = Funny how little, ACTUALLY struggling indie devs are selling their games without DRM and such and you aren't hearing of them saying their being killed by piracy. In fact they are doing fine. Maybe if most publishers didn't spend 20-50 million advertising games, 100million on promotions, they would make more profit. Games don't need to have a commercial spot on every ten minutes on tv to sell. Make GOOD games, and they will sell.

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="shadowchronicle"][QUOTE="BrunoBRS"] -The western audience only got to play FE with the 7th game, but i'd say they didn't lose much. after all, there are two things that make a Fire Emblem game: Story and Strategy. The story part is worse than Zelda. It's always about a ragtag bunch of heroes that must retake a kingdom from an evil empire/keep a dark god from being resurrected. Sometimes both. So that leaves strategy, right? -For every Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, you have at least one Metroid Other M or Prime 2/3. -Those are the ones I've found the biggest issues with. I ignored the Wii series, for example, because they don't really cater to the same audience as these other franchises. Zelda has been thoroughly addressed in the first paragraphs and charizard's thread. -And then there are the galaxy games, which 'innovate' by doing what flash games have been doing since the dawn of time: adding small planet-like thingies you can run around. Aaaaand that's pretty much it. Not to mention the difficulty was severely downplayed, with 90% of stages being a breeze to go through. -Noticing that sales weren't pleasing, Nintendo stuck with just reskinning the original games and adding some visual flair. and so DKC Returns was born.

Which is why when you refer to chaz's thread about being alike and I still don't believe it. Where were the good trolls before ToU? What the hell happened to them? Give them back to me damnit.

i'm not saying my thread is like his, i'm just saying the thread worked like a slap in the face, which made me realize that all the complaints i've had with nintendo games were far more than just a few, isolated cases. and what's with the personal attacks? if i'm wrong, just say so and why, rather than labelling me.

Just know TC, that when NO ONE is willing to even discuss what you've stated, you won. Personal attacks and "didn't read' are a failing console fanboys lifesaver. Can you blame wii-hards? What have they had to play lately? But honestly i found your post rational, and more well thought out than most of SW. Thank you. If you need more evidence of wii-hards lack of stuff to do, look at the number of comments charizards thread has gotten. If only fanboys new have 1600-1700 posts of DAMAGE control is very, VERY funny... funny and telling.

Love SW, somebody makes a thread with REAL debateable points, and everyone says stuff like "didn't read' or 'april fools'.. I would tend to agree with TC here. Nintendo has COMPLETELY managed to keep me from getting into wii gaming.. and ive had one for years.. have all the "best" 1st party nintendo games, and still meh. I know some people love it, thats fine, but my feelings almost mirror TC's. There is just so much the wii can't do, they have had a very.... diverse... library, but still nothing has got my attention. And I grew up 100% my life as a nintendo fanboy.... Gamecube just kind of lost me although it had its good games. - Nintendo will always make their flagship titles, however, is it NOT TIME FOR SOMETHING VERY GOOD AND VERY NEW FROM THEM!?!? Look how many new ip's pc/xbox/ps3 got this gen? Why couldn't nintendo do the same? I know they are afraid of the following they have, but i see no reason why they can't make something brand new that is great. I have faith.

Need to pump out those casual Kinect titles and strip developers of all their pride and self esteem..see Rare. Heil68
Rare made their games this gen, why does everyone keep saying this? their games didn't really catch on big this gen that's all. I don't know why people act like all they made this gen was xbox live avatars.

All multiplats are held back by the 360DualShockFore
seriously, show me one ps3 game that offered more content because of its bluray: Uncharted?? God of war 3?? Heavy rain?? killzone?? What makes you think devs dont like the smaller size of xbox dvd, they have less to make, and have an excuse to why. There is a lot less compression in ps3 exclusives, but still, most downloadable ps3 titles are what 9-14gb? you're telling me thats making use of "all the extra space" bluray has? bah - until someone proves there is a ps3 bluray game that is longer/better because of the increase of storage, let me know. As of now, I haven't seen ONE of my ps3 exclusives have a higher resolution than 720p.. funny, you'd think all that extra SPACE could make for better graphics.. - question though: is there a ps3 that is 1080p?? im not being a **** i just haven't played one yet. All my game boxes say "720P" or "1080i" as well as my tv input resolution info.

I have yet to have ONE of my ps3 games be any longer or have more content than an xbox game. The downloadable ps3 titles on psn are not large files, and in no way even nearly fill a third of the bluray. I would like xbox to have more storage, but if that was at the cost of alienating older adopters then no. As I recall it was ps3 that had so many problems in development last time, and was horribly flawed when it came out.. was this to be blamed on xboxs dvd format too? - If microsoft came out wiht a new attachment for games, all you system-warriors would attack them for forcing gamers to buy their accessories/addons. I'm fine with DVD, even *GASP* multiple dvds. I would be more concerned if i gave one **** about GTA now, it's such an old formula for me now, and i can't bring myself to finish gta4. But honesly, computers don't seem to hurt by the dvd format they use, so I don't see why xbox would be. Maybe they could just include an install like forza3 did? :)
