94. You feign sickness so you can miss school. Then you spend every minute of the day playing you-know-what.

[QUOTE="Atrus"][QUOTE="Taegukki"]I know that there has been violent acts in the name of christianity in the past (for example the crusades), but they were not done in the name of God. What they did was against the 10 commandments. Its mostly Catholics that did those things, and a lot of their beliefs (praying/getting forgiveness to anyone/anything that isnt God, celibacy for priests etc) are not mentioned in the Bible.thotoz

Actually the Crusades were done in the name of God:

"God has conferred upon you above all other nations great glory in arms. Accordingly, undertake this journey eagerly for the remission of your sins, with the assurance of the reward of imperishable glory in the kingdon of heaven.."

-Pope Pius II during the speech that commenced the Crusades. After this quote people started chanting "Gods Will!" or Deus Wilt, "God wills it!" the Latin cry for many religious orders.

While you could try to repudiate the Catholics, they certainly did use biblical texts to their advantage.

I think he meant "they were not done according to Jesus' teachings and were against the Christianity faith itself". Anyways... Since the topic is on Jews, do you guys believe Zionists are ruining Israel? The Rabbi Jews say that it is prohibited for the State of Israel to exist because it is indicated so in the Torah, and that they have been living in peace among muslims before the zionists. But then again you can never trust those crazy lunatic muslims in Palestine. Bah, I don't know much regarding the issue in Israel to be honest.

Rabbi is a general term, much like a priest. There is a sect against zionism, called satmur. They believe Jews should not establish a State because it is not really permissable to do so until the coming of the Messiah. Not because of that "we want peace in the middle east" stuff,

The "real Book" says in Zechariah (the Prophet) 2:8 that the Jews are the "Apple of God's Eye", meaning the most most delicate and touchy spot on His body. It also says in the "real Book" that God's covenant with the Jews is eternal and ever lasting. And, that God will curse all those who curse the Jews, and bless those who bless the Jews.

Stop and think.

God has clearly set up a  sort of a "wall", or a line in the sand,  as a test from the beginning.  The Jewish Test.  The Nazis didn't listen when they killed 6 million Jews; so 20 million Germans lost their lives in World War II.  The Pharaoh of Egypt didn't listen - so he lost his life chasing the Hebrews.   He tried to kill Jewish babies, so he had all Egypt's first born son's killed.  History is filled with these real tests of what happened to people who mistreated the Jews (Spain became a 2nd rate power immediately after expelling the Jews, and similar things happened to Britain).  Look what happened several times to Arab countries who connived to attack Israel in the last century.  There is a symbiotic relationship between the Jews and Christians which has made America the greatest country in the world. And it is clearly to be seen that all those countries that bless the Jews are the most prosperous and happy nations in the world.  Conversely, those countries that curse the Jews are the most accursed and miserable of all.

I think it's the other way around. God tests the Jews to see how as a nation they stand against persecution.

The format seems dated, if you ask me.

all my friends were just like "ZOMG Reid you have to watch napoleon dynamite" i noticed that it was really popular at my school and there were tons of merchandise everywhere. so finally i went out and rented it. i must say what a bad movie. i thought the main character along with most ethers were really annoying. also the dialog didn't amuse me either. and i thought it was boring. i sat through the entire movie and i didn't laugh once. i dunno. maybe i'm missing something. but i didn't think it was funny.

That movie, along with its humor, really is a shot in the dark. You either like Napoleon Dynamite, or you hate it. Personally, I hate it.
