I'm not sure if the coronavirus is in NY yet, though I've been sick with presumably the flu all week. The weather is so bipolar, I think most of us just want it to be Spring already. Even if it hasn't been a bad Winter it's been bad enough.

I recycled bottles and cans yesterday, and spent a lot of time reading about Alex Toth and all the shows he worked on for Hanna-Barbera. I slept most of Saturday, but kind of want to do more today. Laundry is due again, but that could wait.

This week I pretty much accepted that I won't be able to do my own taxes due to crappy Internet and poor records from the people who did my taxes last year, so I'll probably just go back to them yet again.

@speeny: See? It's best not to burn yourself out on stuff. :P I haven't read up on this new AC much, but I'm sure a lot of people are going to get it. I think especially with how stressful the times are, a lot of people want to play something more chill and fun like Animal Crossing right now.

@ezekiel43: I'm realizing that Prince put out like an album nearly every year from the start of his career til the end. (At least 30 studio albums?) I went on to read that Frank Zappa had 109 albums and Buckethead has like 300 plus. Just how???

I never read or saw V for Vendetta. I feel like I might appreciate it, but the whole fascism and anarchy thing would probably get too political for my liking. I thought about trying out Sonic Mania a few times, but I honestly just think I'm not a big enough fan of those games.

@watercrack445: Yeah, I guess it has been getting talked about a lot since last year, and it is seeming like it has a realistic possibility of happening. DC and Vermont are also discussing it, and possibly a few other states.

@horgen: Are you a chemist?

@johnd13: It's weird to imagine people years from now reading about these times. Hopefully where they're leading is ultimately good...

I keep kind of coming back to this sad and blatant realization that most people are shallow and barely want to socialize or spend time together unless they have to.

A lot of people are crappy and I do want to get away from them when I can. Crowds and full parking lots induce paranoia and stress. I like my alone time too. But it's like even acquaintances seem to want to stay stuck on level 1 or 2, and not really move beyond that. Strangers stay strangers.

Smartphones, social media and online dating really didn't help. They just enabled people to put up walls and filter those they associate with.

@davillain-: How many of us are really alive anymore? lol

Winter hasn't been bad, but it's been bad enough. I'm ready for nice weather.

@speeny: I guess my feelings towards tv and movie entertainment are kinda indifferent anymore. I never really want to rewatch stuff anymore, unless maybe it's some old sitcom reruns on tv. Few movies are really special enough for me to want to see them again, and most shows take too much time to re-explore.

It's nice that you have it stored digitally, but for me I think it would still be clutter. Stuff I would barely revisit in the future. I guess it's because I sort of feel like after the first time you've watched it, you've seen it, and nothing will compare to those memories and initial impact.

As for gaming, I say don't force it just to fill a gap. You're in the mood to play Animal Crossing, and it will be out soon. Nothing else would really scratch that itch, right?

It's another weekend! I'm taking over for thread responsibilities again this week.

How is your weekend going?

Mine has been depressing, but it's nice to have a few days off to unwind and take stock of things. I really feel like I need a "guy's day out" with some friends.

Work has been going alright, but I kind of wish I could work around some different people. I might try to hang out with some of the people from the other departments on breaks for a while, get to know some new faces.

Prostitution could soon be made legal and regulated in NY state. It's been talked about recently. I'm kind of hoping it will be. Tbh with the way people are nowadays, I think it's a needed industry. Everyone needs an outlet, and as of right now I don't think everyone has one. I know I don't. And hell, maybe that's the one thing that would make me stay in this lousy state lol.

I would like to go somewhere or do something tomorrow. I think I've gotta expand my pool of friends.

How you?

I've never cared about CoD in the slightest. I am shocked that Halo isn't more popular, but that's really just due to it being 1st party.

I think Halo Infinite could revitalize interest in the IP. It depends on how fans react.

@Byshop: I remember the Simon game at LC! I also remember when they had some toys for kids, like a cube you could fold several times to show different pictures of the Caesar people.

Also, I don't know why Snyder chose to replace the giant space monster with "Dr. Manhattan did it." I felt like the giant space monster made more sense.

That movie irritated me so much. Like I sat and read the comics before the movie came out. And I remember them making Rorscasch seem like a psychopath and cleaving a guy with a butcher knife when it didn't go down like that.

And Nite Owl certainly didn't avenge Rorscasch after he was obliterated. He didn't even see any of that happen.

Watching the Watchmen movie, I felt like everything was Hollywood-washed for the times lol.

I actually used to dislike Papa John's pizza, the sauce always tasted weirdly sweet to me. Hadn't eaten it in many, many years, until last year. And it actually seems pretty decent to me now. I think it might have something to do with getting the pizza at a different location.

I like that they offer by-the-slice pizza also. Most of the other chains don't. Tuesdays are great since you can get cheap slices.

I think between Little Caesar's, Domino's and Papa John's they all have something going for them. Domino's probably makes pizzas the fastest, and Caesar's has the cheapest large pepperoni pizzas. Pizza Hut, ironically, has some decent non-pizza stuff like their pastas and breadsticks.

Everyone around here would declare blasphemy and point to all of the local NY-style pizza shops we've got around. I don't care though, I like chains lol.

I actually thought it was pretty clever, haha. I can just imagine the conversations the ad men at Kraft had about boosting sales for Valentine's Day. "Well Tom, inventory says we've got a lot of noodles... How can we spin this for a romantic holiday?" lol

The fact that I never heard about this and we're talking about it after the fact says they must not have promoted this concept well enough. But I think people have better ideas of how to handle these situations than mac and cheese.
