It disgusts me to say this but even though I have a pretty decent 480gtx setup, I will be forced to get the ps3 version because I cannot trust the MP experience on PC. First, pc gamers tend to be more hardcore and have crazy mouses with precision aiming, my cheap Logitech cannot compete. I want a wide variety of people to play with, not just hardcore ones. PS3 owners are more likely to have the same control although other controllers do exist for it. 2nd, i dont trust that it will sell the most, meaning a couple years down the line, lobbys wont be as full. I did the same for CODand any other MP centric multiplat game. In fact, i hope to god many of my fav titles dont come with MP or come with crappy MP so i dont have to purchase it for my ps3 and can get much better visuals on my PC. Looking at the visuals on BF3 on fallon for ps3 made me sick, I spat at the TV. I was expecting a new god but even crysis 2 looks better on consoles. That being said, I will somehow find a way to play the single player on PC so I can enjoy some sort of DX11 glory.

So why did COD sell so badly on PSP? Why didn't COD on Wii eclipse the other versions even though it has a bigger user base?

No, COD isn't even coming out for the Vita this year. They are simply "working" on it. Infact, I'd expect a 3DS version much sooner than a Vita version

I mean, its not like they've been making pretty good handheld CODs for the PSP the last 3-4 years, unlike how they have for the DS

No, people don't want to buy a handheld to play the same games they can on their big TVs. The 3DS will succeed by having unique IPs that have broad appeal and can only be found on 3DS literally and conceptually.

The Vita will be a "Me too" handheld that wants to be a home console just like the PSP, thus resulting in an identity crisis and confusing consumers as to what the reasons they should buy it really need to be.

darth-pyschosis
the psp control is not a console control, VITA has 2 analog sticks, simple as that, 3ds will have a COD but it will not be on the level of VITA. I think VITA will be able to match its console brothern as far as features to almost pure graphics, the 3ds tech cannot. The ONLY thing the vita is missing is triggers, and I can do without because i use L1 and R1 to control shots. i dont use grenades either. people who use grenades make me sick.

O.K., seriously, what are you basing these percentages on? 75% of a generation? What does that even mean?

dzimm

lol lets not be so literal here eh? It means the gap is not as big as Wii to PS3. Definitely not as big. But the gap is quite noticeable and big enough that you might htink it is almost a generation ahead. Obviously a generation ahead means nothing if you are not comparing it, but I am indeed comparing it to what we are used to seeing in a leap.

This whole notion of comparing systems based on "generation" has gotten absurd. What's under the hood matters less than what's on the screen, and judging by screenshots, the 3DS and Vita are pretty much tied.

i feel like your a nintendo loyalist for saying that, no way are they tied, im sorry.

No series stays on top and a multiplatform game is usually not a system seller. Also when it's a game about pulling triggers you probably want triggers.

dovberg
vita has touch screens that i can see be used to lob grenades and the triggers on top will work fine from what I see. It disgusts me people dont see the gravity of having call of duty on vita for the system

CALL OF DUTY a vita version of COD will more or less run like its hd console brothers, gamers and casuals will buy it up like moths to my protein shakes (but i drink it with the moths, it sickens me how weak people are), the 3ds is physically unable to play cod due to lack of analog nubs, it would be hard to play it. The 3ds is basically wii in terms of power and graphics, the vita is slightly less than PS3, dont get me wrong, I HATE and PUKE at handles, they anger me, i would never buy one, but COD will ensure VITA victory. Mario, stupid smash brothers, nothing will eclipse COD.

In the sense that all the R&D costs would not go to the cell and be used to take losses on Ram and better video card? As much as i love the cell, the smart idea would have to use a triple core bs cpu like the 360 has and just jack up ram and gpu power. If you ever went from a 7600gt gpu to a gtx480, you can see that gpu makes the most difference. I can even go to performacnce tests that shows, that most cases, cpu from the midstream to the extreme have little impact as much as gpu, especially at 720p res. SOny spent BILLIONS on the cell creation, it was a big mistake in my eyes. More ram and video is what developers bottlenecked themselves this gen. It sickens me.

Want to know what disgusts me. Graphic horses

Nintendo_Ownes7

you do realize getting games to 60 fps means reducing graphics, fps is more about gameplay than graphics. Another failure of a comment.

That is one reason Nintendo's games are mostly at 60 FPS because it helps the gameplay.

Nintendo games at 60 FPS

Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)Metroid Prime (GCN)Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (GCN)Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii)Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)Flingsmash (Wii)Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (Wii)F-Zero X (N64)F-Zero GX (GCN)

I think that is all of Nintendo's 60 FPS games.

I mean in HD of course, im not here to talk about nintendo, that company disgusts me, its franchises disgust me and have no interest to me, kid icarus ? seriously.... Im talking more in the likes of COD, im pretty sure their giving up a ton of resources in the graphics department simply to play the game in 60 fps, Thats why bad company 2 is soo awesome, destructable environments, but 30 fps, that makes me sick (cept on pc of course)
