[QUOTE="death1505921"]

I haven't used this account in years, I used to use it quite a fair bit when I was approx 14-15 years old. I'm not sure if any of the people who used to be very active around that time are still around so this may be a bit of a waste of time.

I'm not sure if any of you will remember but there was a member with a name similar to ASFM/MFSA with a system shock avatar. He made excellent well thought out posts but eventually ended up getting banned. He made a new account and was around for a bit more until he was permi-banned again for his original offence.

Regardless, he had a youtube channel where he reviewed games, most of which were done very well. I'm sure if any of you old timers are still around will probably be aware of it. The shame is he died about a month back from a PE.

I'm not really sure what the point of this post is, I just felt like posting it to see if anybody else remembers him (doubtful as like I said, I don't even know if the people still use the site). His family are doing a charity drive in his honor but I won't post any links in case they think I'm advertising or something. You can find it through google pretty easily though if you care. RIP man.

EDIT: Yeah, a quick google shows up his username was MFSA, the acronym backwards. He also used the account Fat_Shodon and a bunch of others.

That's... pretty shocking (I even checked his youtube not too long ago). I didn't 'know' him very well and he didn't know me, but I liked his posts/video reviews.

'PE' = pulmonary embolism, I take it?

Yeah, PE=Pulmonary embolism. My bad, I'm so used to abbreviating medical terms. It's basically a clot in the lung although the exact mechanism of mortality is quite complicated despite it's initial appearance of simplicity.

I've never heard of him before, but I just watched his E.Y.E. review and can say it's one of the best I've ever seen. You don't find superb writting and analysis like that anymore. He will be missed.

RyuRanVII
Yeah, he made excellent reviews. I feel a bit strange re-watching them now or watching old ones knowing he's no longer around though.

Not many from back in the day are still here. Miss Fat_Shodan, AlextheGod and Manjina. You just have to realise that many people move on with their lives and GS is not the center of the universe. Though it still is to me, obviously. :)

Johnny_Rock

Well yeah, heck, I haven't used this forum in years so I didn't expect many other people to be on here either. I posted in my OP that I doubted anybody would still use it so I didn't see use this thread would be.

[QUOTE="death1505921"]Yeah, I edited the post before I read your reply. I think Fat_shodon is what I remember him most by. Basing this on the search the yielded the System Shock 2 pictures I associate with it.Johnny_Rock

Yeah, Fat_Shodan was a great contributer back in the days.

How is the board now? I use a bunch of other forums nowadays. Mostly British retailers ones. I haven't found an active PC games forum though. I remember dropping my activity from this forum when the userbase turned to trash. How is it these days? Hmm. I might start using it over the next few weeks and see what happens. I started using IGN for game news too after the whole giant bomb thing. IGN forums blow though.

After installing a PCI NIC card in my lowest PCI slot my computer refuses to boot. It turns on, powers on but I get a black screen and the lights on my keyboard
don't blink on

The LED on the PCI card doesn't light up but everything else does.

I've bought the card so I can add another ethernet as well as the onboard to share a connection between my 360 and wired connection (In halls and have to do this to get
online).

I need to buy a good set of speakers. I was originally going to buy a dock for my Zune but decided selection was limited and that I'd be spending more money than I needed. I instead got a cheaper dock that you hook up to your own setup.

The dock has A/V hook up as well as standard 3.5mm.

At the moment I run all my sound at home through my ATH-AD700 headphones. I want to use this dock to hook up to a proper set of speakers. I'm thinking either a 2.1 computer setup or possibly some studio monitors that don't require an amp.

I'm not really well versed in speakers or audio setups outside of headphones so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was originally going to buy a set of z2300 but figured I would be able to get much better sound quality from somewhere other than computer speakers.

I'm looking to spend around 150-250 GBP.
I listen to DnB, Rock, Punk, little bit of acoustic and rap.
The speakers must be able to connect to the dock (I keep all my music on it, don't burn any) via A/V or 3.5mm.

At the moment I'm thinking of maybe the KRK RP5 G2s or the AudioEngine A5s. Would you say either of the monitors require a sub though? I've heard they're quite lacking on the bass side. I'm unable to audition either of them so I can't find out for myself.

I'm not looking for completely overpowering bass, I mean the AD700s are hardly grados and I like them just fine. I'm not looking for beastly bass to pound through the walls and piss off my neighbors either, I just don't want a hollow sound.

Just play on medium if you find it too easy. Switch back to easy if you find it too hard. Couldn't you have figured that out by yourself?

No, although, I wouldn't play either now. They are both pretty dated. The vehicle sections for HL2 for me make it crash and burn nowadays.
