Anyone know how I can tell if my Accelero S1 is a rev 1 or a rev 2? I have a feeling the rev 1 won't fit on the HD 4890 but the rev 2 will.

It seems my Accelero S1 and turbo module will work on the 4890. /strokes chin. I am tempted, since I know that thing is sick quiet and has mad temps.

eh well i guess this is just more proof of how badly Crysis is made/coded :D

No, don't get a 4890 if you have a 8800GT. This comes from a user who actually had both cards and knows what will the difference be. Wait for DX11 cards and you won't be sorry, believe me. I know you are impatient, but you will not see much of a performance difference. Wait for GT300 and you will not be dissappointed.

Slig0

When the cards come out they're always really expensive though and I dislike spending 200+ GBP on a GPU. Hence I normally wait for the price drop or get a midrange card. I almost got a GTX 260, but waited, and now I'm not sure weather to wait again or not. I'll see how prototype runs when I've installed it and see if I can max it or not on my 8800GT

I've read so many reviews and the benchmarks all seem to contradict themselves. Some websites show the 4890 coming out top on most, others show the GTX 275 as the victor. I'm just not sure what card to get.

Sound is a big factor for me, my 8800GT is cooled with the Accelero S1 and turbo module and my pc is water cooled for silence, it's pretty much non audible. I havn't seen any decent custom coolers released for either yet that are silent.

At the moment the HD 4890 is for sale on scan for £121(check today only)

The cheapeast GTx 275 is the palit one with a custom cooler for £160 but I can't find out any reviews mentioning the noise of the cooler.

I'm after general performance in majority of games, not just crysis, not just grid.

The 4890 is tempting, since I could get a decent aftermarket cooler to make up the price difference and make it a hell of alot quieter (i'm assuming). But the benchies are all plagued with remarks of bias so I'm confused tbh.

Opinions?

EDIT: I play @ 1680x1050

Where can you get into competetive battling? Are there ladders etc? Anyone got a good website to point me in the right direction/help me set up a good start team/tips/etc. I'm mid way through leveling and would have assumed that the legendaries would make the best team and then just EV train them, but I'm probably wrong, just don't want to spend ages EV leveling pokemon that will suck.

Well I found this:

Hardware or peripherals may be opened for the purpose of inspection (but not used) and may be returned for refund or exchange within 28 days of the despatch date (7 days for TVs). Please note that hardware must contain every component part (cables, memory sticks etc.) before it can be accepted as a return.

BUT I removed the pre-owned sticker off the back of the DS, but could I get away with saying my girlfriend did it before she gave it to me, since she's the one who bought it for me. We'll soon see anyway tomorrow. I'm hoping they'll let me exchange it since the guys in game are normally good blokes. I've taken the pre-owned sticker off the box and whacked that on it anyway, since it's the same sticker so the may not notice.

[QUOTE="meiaman"]Maybe the rubber pads are not placed properly or they are worn out. This problem can be fixed through. You can send it to Nintendo or try to fix it yourself, but remember, opening your own DS will null the warranty if you still have it. And i don`t recommend trying it yourself unless you know what you`re doing.

I've opened consoles before and built my own PC (Including volt modding/water cooling/custom cooling) , so I'm fine with working with electronics but I don't want to null warrenties. Same reason why I refuse to open up my PSP to mod it. If I send it to ninty, any idea what sort of turn around/cost it will be inside/outside of warrenty?

Is the D-Pad still functional? If it feels really loose as if it's going to come off, then I suggest returning it and getting a new one.

Spade_Crisis
Yeah it's still functional but diaganols don't always work. I don't think it'll fall off though, might end up worn down though.
