@SadPSPAddict

And maybe we shouldn't count the PS3's that have never had a game in them and were only bought because they were the cheapest blu-ray players on the market for years. This fanboy crap is SO freaking old. RROD was a problem. MS offered a THREEE YEAR replacement plan on them. The units from late 2008 on have a lower failure rate than PS3's do.

Get a life.

The key to this article is found in one sentence fragment:

"They're late in the cycle, so they've got this really great processor."

In other words, the Wii U may be the best console of THIS generation, which is almost over. Who is going to shell out $300+ on a console that will be "last gen" in a year?

But the U.S. is where the type of game that Epic makes will sell best.

Well... His points are actually pretty biased (the argument that the PS store is better because it is worth the extra effort to get to the stuff you want is hardly objective, for example). What seems most excessive to me is the fact that he felt the need to defend his system when it wasn't under attack. Ms. Goldstein is doing an article like this for all the major systems. If you are getting too wound up about an article like this, you may be too emotionally invested in a plastic box full of wires.

However, I say if you MUST toss out tags like fanboy make sure you are going to back it up. Otherwise, you are just trolling.

Did you read past the header? It isn't about exclusives. Software licensing is where a lot of the money from consoles comes from, not first part titles. She was saying that Sony needs to fix the problem of third party games selling MUCH better on the competition's console.

I have Platinums on the first 2 Uncharted games, but haven't touched the 3rd since I finished the first playthrough. I don't like what they did to the "Uncharted experience".

I hated the Prince of Persia ripoff sections of AC 2-15. Brotherhood was better than 2, but far too short. The MP does nothing for me. HATED Revelations. It felt like what it was, a bunch of incongruous mini-games made by 8 different studios. AC 3 looks silly to me. He doesn't fit in with ANYONE and no one is batting an eye. What I really miss are the epic assassinations of the first game. Yes you had to do the other stuff to get to them, but they were so good when you did.

I think that it has been long enough to put the PS3-superiority crap to rest. It has more raw processing power, but it also has bottlenecks that prevent that power from being utilized fully. Third party games STILL look better on the 360 so how much unused processing power the PS3 has doesn't matter. I don't dislike the PS3. I own a PS3.

The PS3 and 360 are different. Each has strengths and each has weaknesses. Cell, which gives the PS3 the raw processing edge is by most accounts a pain in the rear to program. What is "superior" on paper has not proven to be so in the real world.

Here is the quote from last week's MS article.

"Let's kick things off by examining Microsoft, but be sure to check back in the following weeks for an assessment on Sony, Nintendo, and the next crop of mobile devices."

I completely disagree about Uncharted. I LOVE the first. Aside from the Sixaxis crap, it was near perfect. The second one was turned me off when they made the lovable treasure hunter into a common thief. The story overall wasn't as good or as FUN. The third one just sucked, in my honest opinion. The stroy was a big improvement over the second, but it felt rehashed, it was mostly cutscenes, the melee combat felt like a generic knockoff of Arkham Asylum, they broke the shooting mechanics that made the first two so good, the last boss was laughable in context and difficulty, climbing the ship felt like a poor copy of the great train sequence from the second game (what a shock! another pipe broke.), and I found the level design to be hideous (I didn't find 7 guys shooting at me from above and two thugs meleeing me every other room fun.)

Also, I hate what Ubisoft did to Assassin's Creed. Loved the first, didn't love the rest.
