In my experience, iOS has impressive system and hardware stability at the expense of broad home-brew support, yet a lot of tinkering can be done with the numerous jailbreaks. Android allows deeper customization by default yet tends to have system instabilities and a few eco-system inconsistencies there. I've had a virus affect my previous model Droid before, so keep in mind that if you go Android, pay close attention to what you're downloading. Over-all, I preferred the iPhone for the seamless cross-compatability between all iPhones, iPods and iPads. Never had as little as a hiccup running iOS, and the massive game selection and all the exclusives make it a winner. The apps usually exude more polish than their Android counter-parts as well.

[QUOTE="Kid-Atari"]Kindle Fire hands down would be the best Android tablet. The 400 and up range you may as well go with the new iPad if you're looking for top of the line hardware, otherwise you'd be spending a lot of money for much less performance.IvanElk

I am feeling a moderation coming, but I don't give a **** at this point. You do not have sufficient knowledge of android tablets, you admit exclusivity to apple. This is not the mobile gaming forum it used to be, if you want to talk about ipad vs android tablets, value or other relations between the two its system wars. In addition to this, this thread would only be open to other OS's if it was in system wars.

Now past that little rant, I think the hp touchpad was a good deal and a pretty good solution the hardware on it is definitely comparable to some mid-highend android tablets and will definitely take care of your needs. Since I have gotten more into using the functionality of android (for work purposes) feel free to post threads looking for good productivity apps. Me or someone else can definitely help you.

As an owner of a Droid phone I have every right to post in this forum as you do, and I've been given the grace to by the moderator as well. Your assumption that I'm Apple biased is your own problem to deal with. He asked for the best Android tablet at around $250, and for his specified use-scenario the Kindle Fire was the best recommendation I could make, which others have made as well. It's not my fault you assume every apple-device carrying person is a one-sided sheep. I'm what system-wars calls a "manticore."

Didn't nvidia call apple out for just showing an empty graph with no benchmark's.

TwistedShade
They always do. They've called Apple out with every new chip release, only to have benchmarks from every other source eventually show that Apple under-stated each chips abilities.

[QUOTE="mystic_knight"]Come on guys relax a little, Kid atari, you are welcome to use these boards as long as it doesn't involve an attack of sort to android, no one wants to hear that and posts like that will get moderated for forum invasion. If you are coming here and happy to discuss issues/articles associated with android, or even help out people such as the TC you are most welcome.

Thank you, Mystic. I wasn't trying to start a war. I just told OP it was most likely a virus, I've experienced his issue amongst some friends and even on my own accord.

[QUOTE="NVIDIATI"]

[QUOTE="mystic_knight"] I don't think ARM's Cortex A15 is ready yet. As I was saying earlier on in the thread, TI's OMAP 5 is only coming at the start of 2013, so a dual core Cortex A15 and a PowerVR SGX544MP2 seems most likely specs for the 2013 iPad.

mystic_knight
Perhaps, Qualcomm seems fairly confident with it though, it will be interesting to see how it plays out..
all im reading is nerd talkZumaJones07
To enjoy a device you must understand how it works :P. Does anyone know if apple will release a fine point stylus for the iPad, i have seen some stylus' but they are an big as an index finger :?

There's a few fine point stylii available on the internet.
