Here is a suggestion, buy a real PC, not a fashion excuse.

[QUOTE="cseru"] Well I plan on upgrading the video card to a ATI 6870 ! The part was just on sale. And DDR2 will serve me for now! I already have DDR2 memory on my last system and I didn't really see a huge reason to buy a whole new motherboard and get new RAM. And doesn't the board that I have support AM3? It said so on the website.cseru

The board doesn't support AM3 fully which is why it uses DDR2 RAM. The 6870 is a good choice though. I have one and it is a good card . . . especially when AMD releases drivers that fully support it.

Well I'll buy a new mobo :)! Do you know of one I could use? I don't mind buying new RAM, I was just trying to save money :)

Gigabyte 870A-UD3 + 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Kingston Value RAM. You can reuse the second PC as a server or backup system.

I would rather pay double and have a machine that is more powerful, and last longer. I have not had the best experience with AMD. After 1 year, my previous desktop was pretty much done. It got slower and had some registry errors. I never had an intel machine until I got my last laptop, and that has been ok, but still better than my desktop. Performance wise.

Registry errors are not part of hardware and an equivalent Intel system is hardly breathtakingly faster.

I know about the registry errors in the OS, but I like talking about it in terms of AMD because I don't really trust their reliability. I know, I am an a$$. Maybe I should give them another shot, since I am going to be building this thing anyway.

The build I posted earlier in the thread is a good starting point.

But the best jokes are racist jokes. That's not fair, you can't take that away from us.

yeah but think of the world if everyone was equal, im pretty sure half the wars would be reduced by half or there wouldnt be any. Keep that in mind

Humanity will never be equal. We always want what we don't/can't have. Its unnatural to want to be equal. Then where would survival and ambition fit it?

Why did you build such a system? Its all over the place. You bought an AM3 hexa core processor for a mATX AM2+ (not even AM3) board in a full tower case (why not ATX)?, a 750w PSU that you won't use with that GPU, and a GPU that is slow. And DDR2 memory in 2010. Why?

I am actually thinking of going with intel on this build. Not a big fan of AMD.

For $700, are you sure?

About time. We need a new world war. Otherwise CoD will run out of ideas for new games.

Try Pidgin. You will most likely switch.
