@Berserk8989: for perspective, Sony recently bought Imsoniac, IMO that one was a well established studio. I think Sony would buy more big studios if they had the money MS has.

I see your point though, but I think MS won't take The Elder Scrolls away just because it could be used as advertisement for Gamepass. "You can play ES6 for 70 dollars on your PS5, or you can enjoy it from day one as part of your GP subscription."

Now, Starfield on the other hand....yeah no, I'd think that would be XBOX/PC only. Maybe Nintendo...

@bdrtfm: If I am not mistaken, Phil said a few days ago they still had a couple of strong announcements to make. This must be one for sure, and I can only wonder what the other one could be.... Gold removal?

@lostn: Windows provides other subscriptions models such as Office 365. Windows Home and Pro analyze lots of data for Windows Defender (which replaced Endpoint Protection). This had allowed other MS products such as Systems Center Configuration Manager to integrate MS solutions and attempt to compete at a corporate level with BitDefender and Kaspersky.

Home edition is pretty much a beta tester for software updates (since they are mandatory in that edition) . So that has a lot of value too.

I don't say this to sound argumentative, just to add perspective.

And I agree, MS certainly dominates the OS market for gamers, However, places with Bring Your Own Device alternatives for work see a lot of variety, believe it or not Chromebooks are used quite often.

@jinzo9988: I think it's also possible it helps them keep people on a Windows ecosystem. A lot of people seem to say "I don't need an xbox I'll just get a good PC instead and play their games there with Gamepass Ultimate". They can collect a lot more data from a PC in the end

@just1mohr: Are there many players on SW BF1 still? Like, is it easy to find matches? Asking from North America.

@thomaswmak: I think that's part of the strategy, to make GamePass Ultimate your way to go no matter where you play. If you use it on PC, then it works for MS as a way to keep a large Windows user base. They collect a lot of data to improve their services on Win10 too.
