LAN should be an option in every relevant game. I've had 1000 times more fun playing games in person, than I have over the Internet.

Would be cool and all, but there's like you and 5 others in the world who are willing to LAN still. I agree though, LAN is way more fun than online.

Haha, you're not wrong, but similar to our last discussion, I bet more people would do it I if they knew it was an option. How many kids even know what it is? We gotta show these little soap pod eating dipsh!ts how it's done.

I have no idea how hard it is for them to program and add this function to the game, but I wouldn't think it's that hard. But by not adding it, they force you to use online. And I don't wanna.

In the PC Space:

Competition is good in all sectors of the PC. It's good that there are different stores. It's good to have more hardware vendors. It would be great to have more choice in OS (Linux is rapidly improving but Anti Cheat is a big problem at the moment). Complaining about another store or another launcher or remembering another password is childish gibberish.

I agree with the vast majority of your points, but the PC store stuff is a little goof. Competition is great, but how much competition is there between gog, EGS and steam? Gog has some cool old stuff, but pales in comparison to steam. EGS is Chinese spyware, that is basically only used for the free games; aka 'Trojan Horse'. So really there is only steam. And the problem with that is there's is no competition. What PC really needs is to bring back physical games. I'm talking Big Boxes and everything. Throw in some maps, a notepad and maybe a pen that lights up. I gotta stop, I'm about to get hard. Hell, they can even put the games on multiple disks. As long as the whole game is on there, and not just some glorified download code.

Plus you wouldn't have to deal with all those childish passwords. I'm sick of adding new vectors for some douchebag halfway around the world to hack my account.

There are too many games, and most of them suck.

RDR2 is not fun.

@Litchie: I wonder if it's less about demand, and more that people don't know there is another way. They're great at brainwashing people into believing there isn't an option. Hell, I would love stuff that actually lasted, but that's not what THEY want. They want to continually sell us sh!t we don't need, and to make us afraid to not have it. We're so addicted to convenience and constant stimulation that we can't see how it's destroying us. I'm seriously about to go back to a flip phone, and just use this phone for audiobooks when I walk at night. Worst case scenario, I could just pop the sim back in if I go somewhere that I would need navigation.

I want less things in my life, and to care more about the few things I do have.

3DO and PS4

It was fun finding 3DO games at pawnshops, but most of them sucked. But it did have a pretty sweet music visualizer.

PS4 has some good stuff, but it had the most back-to-back duds for me. Most of that is on the games and not the system, but it's the same time frame where I stopped liking games.

I don't own a PS5, or that might be my choice.

Smash TV

I would love some more Smash TV, or some new version of The Running Man. Do a big one where you sneak through a giant cordoned off section of gang filled city, trying to escape capture or death from a crew of unique Hunters. And do a smaller Smash TV arcadey version as well.

I really don't want more remasters or remakes though. If you want more of what you had in the past, just make a sequel with the same mechanics. There are some great ideas and vibes from the past that need to be brought forward.

@sonny2dap: I wouldn't mind a modern military shooter that's a little slowed down and more tactical. Whether or not modern kids would like it, I have no clue. But I do know that them trying to chase cod is what killed the last SOCOM. That and the network outage.

Just make a solid, round based, one life shooter, with good mechanics and cool maps. And don't try to emulate cod or battlefield. We already have those, so they need to do something different. I don't really care for the modern Battlefront games, but I think the dense foliage and feel of that engine might work well for this.

All of that said, I doubt we'll ever get a new SOCOM.

@SecretPolice: Rampant toxic positivity is half the reason why modern entertainment blows. I respect your desire, but until the world en masse stops hiding from the problem, we are doomed.

@R4gn4r0k: Haha, that's awesome. I hope you have a good time. I'm at least going to my nephew's baseball games this weekend, and then to a buddy's for BBQ and WrestleMania. I hate modern WWE, but hanging out should be fun.
