Depends. I usually use Firefox because there are a few add-ons that I really like, plus I really like the theme I use for it. If I ever need to do a quick search or something like that, though, I use Chrome.
Since I want the slim I'll have to get one off of Amazon.

Amazon is out of stock. They have a secondary store selling it, but they have it at $380, which isn't worth it. NewEgg has 'em in stock, but they charge $12 for shipping. Are you sure about the Newegg.com with $12 shipping? Because someone on this board was in need of a PS3 pretty bad. Hope he/she sees this.

Parents aren't just sold on gimmicks nowadays. It's got to show how much entertainment and longevity it will provide him. Of course bluray movies will provide this but at the end of the day, it's not enough. Talk with your parents about compromising about where your money is going and how you want to spend it. Do your research on what deals are available to you right now that can provide you with the basics and still leave you enough money to last the rest of the month.

With the slim you trade Linux installation and the shiny finish for lower power use and a larger hard drive. If by 2nd gen you mean the non b/c models then I would keep it.
