@squishytia: Do you not realize the 360 Xenon chip was ALSO a PowerPC machine and not all that different from the PS3? It was just closer to an off the shelf PowerPC GPU than the PS3 Cell was, thus making it a little easier to emulate.
But in general, a RISC based chip like the PowerPC (and Cell) are harder to emulate on a CISC (x86,x64 systems) chip than the there way around. But the Cell should not really be that more difficult to do than the 360 Xenon, SONY just doesn't want to do it because they see more profit in selling the same game multiple times.
@just1mohr: News Flash! Rare did not make the most recent Battletoads game, it was done by an outside developer (as was Killer Instinct for that matter). That part of your hate rant holds no water. Thinking the Switch is capable of running Everwild just shows you lack of knowledge regarding computer/game graphics - that system would choke and die, much less have the install space for it leading to a compromised version (like most Switch ports). And excuse me but Kameo was extremely underwhelming....there is a reason there was no follow-up of that game. The platforming controls were whack.
@mxmissile: LOL, lame reply but expected no more from someone like you. FYI I never pre-order games much less pay full retail for any game, preferring to wait until there is a significant price drop instead and all bugs worked out. And no desire to touch (much less purchase) Cyberpunk 2077 until all its issues are resolved, I have plenty to play and am not distracted by shiny new things like you.
The whole "limiting stock to promote hype" is an overblown myth created by disillusioned fanboys (like yourself) which makes absolutely no sense from a logical or business standpoint. It would hurt platform holders and publishers more than any perceived gains from "promoting hype". They sell less consoles early on, which in turns leads to less new game sales for those systems as well as fewer peripherals.
@mxmissile: Cool story bro, but it makes absolutely no sense if you look at it logically. They would only be hurting themselves by restricting the supply chain to this extent and if either one broke this supposed log-jam by releasing allegedly held back systems they would clean up in sales just by having it available when the competition is not. Take off the tin foil hat, its cutting off circulation to your brain and making you paranoid and delusional.
@Renunciation: Does seem like a missed marketing option. Heck since it is a Budweiser console they wouldn't even of had to use the "Root Beer Tapper" game that replaced it when the licensing ran out. But maybe they didn't want to advertise the real beer over the "light".
@Barighm: Except this is a pretty big omission and something that should have been ready on launch. Absolutely no reason why this should not have been ready as they knew of the limits of the storage, having the console being BC with the PS4 is even more reason it should have been there.
