Taking into consideration that the critic score of MGS is 9.3 and user score is 9.4, 9.5 and 9.3 for 2 and 9.2 and 9.4 for the 3rd installment I deem your argument debunk. GS is not the end all be all and you must take into all scores which is where the critic score comes in.

I would like to point out that the month MGS came out was also the same month that Zelda came out, and in EGM magazine they both recieved perfect 10's, with them splitting game of the month.

And splinter cell is a diffrent animal compared to MGS, there approaches to the genre are like apples and oranges, they are both fruits but the flavors are way diffrent.

[QUOTE="PBSnipes"]I don't get the point of this, we all know Sony isn't going to overclock anything because it alienatesover 3.5million users so why bother posting about it?PBSnipes

because that didnt happen with the psp's RAM???

I assume you're talking about how people have discovered how to "unlock" the full power of the PSP's processor, which is not the same as the RAM or overclocking. In the PSP's case the processor has always been capable of (I believe) 333mhz, but has been limited to 233mhz in order to conserve battery power. It is not the same as overclocking, which would alienate all current PS3 owners.

Umm actually unlocking the processor for more power is exactly the same thing as overclocking. In fact did you know that most processors are almost always made from the same die with the less powered ones with minor flaws and multiplier locks. Overclocking doesn't alienate anyone as long as the Dev's don't developed for an overclocked system.

I don't see the need to overclock it for games....but if we opened one up and OC'd I wonder how much faster we can get Folding@Home to run. I mean seriously the PS3 has the best CPU for doing the mathematical operations that Folding needs and if we could overclock it, well just imagine.

Half Life isn't nearly as well-loved as it's fanboys make it out to be. Halo 2 sold more copies than Half Life 2, scored about as well, and is certainly more talked about. Hell, Half-Life itself itself is overshadowed by Counter-Strike. By objective standards, Half Life is the overrated one.

Bibbidy

CS is the multiplayer version of Half-Life, one of many. Single player Halo isn't talked as much as it's multiplayer so considering that CS is Half life's multiplayer and superior to Halo's multiplayer I would say Half Life wins again.

And so now sales are the overall factor of how good a game is, well if that's the case then the Matrix game is one great game as well and I think we can all agree it wasn't that great.

Oh and Half Life set the standard for FPS's.

Assuming all things are equal...are you kidding, multiple DPI resolutions on the fly, mapped keys, strafe keys etc, it's not even close.

Now if you put a total newbie on KB&M against Fatality, well duh.

Let's look at Half-Life and Half-Life 2. They both scored on par with the two Halo games, yet I am hard pressed to find many people who can really step back and honestly say that Halo is really in the league with Half Life. My point, Halo was overrated.

I don't actually know a single person who would say Halo comes close to Half Life but I know many many people who will blindly accept that Halo is the best game of all time or at least close to it.

But I really would say that most of these people have no clue about Half Life.

Link

That link is every 80GB HD and up that NewEgg offers that will work in the PS3. 54 bucks for a 80 GB HDD. And circuit city is thowin in an extra controller and you get 5 free Blu Ray DVD's and you get the Emotion Engine, and you are never even going to fill 60GB's unless you are ridiculous when it comes to playing games.

And I think if you are going to put a ton of media on your PS3 just build a server, I can build a server for like 400 bucks and that is close to a Terabyte of HDD space and it will stream to the PS3
