Let me put it to you this way, Sony and Microsoft are not going to clear out their budgets to make videogames. While in the past the playstation division of Sony has done well for the company it currently is the only division of Sony losing money, so much money that it has actually forced Sony as a whole to post a loss for 2006 and most of 2007 so far.

Microsoft Gaming division hasn't posted a profit yet, not one single penny has been made by the XBox of the 360 and they won't start to recoup these losses until sometime next year.

Nintendo on the other hand has only lost money one quarter of one year since 1981 when it began development of it's NES or Famicon. That is 101 quarters of making money. 25.25 years of not losing money.

The DS is the best selling system, the game boy is the best selling system of all time, the Mario franchise is the best selling franchise of all time....the list goes on.

The point is that Nintendo is not worried about making money because they never have had to worry about it, it just happens for them. How have they been able to do this, they see something that hasn't been done and they do it.

I say shame on you for not wanting to explore into diffrent genre's. America's population is obese, and so are it's children. According to some survey's, as much as 40%. So be mad at Nintendo for trying to make a game that forces you to do some sort of activity. Shame on Nintendo for trying to make people sharper with games like Brain Age.

NO GOOD SIR, shame on you for doubting Nintendo, go outside and run around I say.

I've been playing counter strike since 2001 and 32 players is not to much. In fact I've seen a ton of team work go into playing counter strike.

I can argue all day the merits and demerits of Halo, but the truth is when you put it up against the other FPS's across a multi platform spectrum you will find Halo as a ho-hum FPS. The story line is far from great and multiplayer is average. I am not saying Halo sucks, and I hate it and it's the worst game ever. But honestly if you really step back and take an objective view of it, it really is just not that great.

[QUOTE="gamer0100"]Nintendo Is probably the least wealthy of the 3 console makers.

?????What????mathew952

Microsoft Market Value: 240 Billion

Sony Market Value: 53 billion

Nintendo Market value: 46 Billion

Owned.

Microsoft Gaming Division - 5.4 Billion in the Red, that means they lost that much money.

Sony is working at a 1.88 billion dollar a year loss curently

Nintendo since making games has posted only one quater in the red and that 47 billion is all in the bank baby.

The reason I don't like Halo:

1. It's mediocre and it is not the first FPS on a console to do well, that right is reserved for Goldeneye.

2. 16 person multiplayer is dead....long dead.

3. This is personal taste but I love mouse and keyboard, I find controllers clunky and unintuitave.

4. It appeals to novice FPS players.

Now before you label me a fanboy I will let you know that I have played Halo as much as any other FPS that I have ever played do to it's popularity as game of choice when deployed overseas. I actually didn't buy into the hype for ever when the original came out, finally broke down after everyone I worked with(at the time I worked at gamestop with actually quite a few intelligent people and gamers)bought it, so I bought my new XBox, set up my live account and played Halo. My reaction was that it was boring and the only time it really outshines the premier FPS's is when you play with a bunch of people in the same room, so that is one thing it has going for itself, however that isn't original.

Then my Xbox broke, got a second and that one was finicky as all hell too.

I am in the military and the MS XBox has been the choice of system for deployments due to its ease of networking and games that are playable over said network. I have been in charge of installing said network between the hooches "little wood huts we live in" every deployment we have been on. The last time over we had 4 XBox360's, none of which made it 3 months.

Now before you going oh it must be all that dust/sand or the heat over there I will tell you that despite that we live in wood huts they are A/C'd to the max, most with 2 units per hooch which makes it freezing. Also we pay very paticular attention to ensuring that the systems get blown out at least one a week and the dust/sand isn't as bad as you would think.

Then last night I go to play my friends 360 which he got for his birthday less then 3 months ago and sure as **** there it was, the ring of death. There is a serious problem with the 360, MS acknowledges this.

Just my ancedote.

folding@home simulates folding protiens...why is this important...well...Proteins are biology's workhorses -- its "nanomachines." Before proteins can carry out these important functions, they assemble themselves, or "fold." The process of protein folding, while critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology, in many ways remains a mystery.

Moreover, when proteins do not fold correctly (i.e. "misfold"), there can be serious consequences, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes.

So by folding protiens you are basically looking to find answers to the cure for many diseases..not AIDS though....not the actuall cure but a starting point.

The fallacy in your argument is that you believe that everyone votes on every game and this is not the case. Now there are millions of people that believe that Halo is the end all be all when it comes to FPS's, but this clearly not the case. To many people get swept up into what we consider great games and then continue to state their opinion that a game is great when if they really took a objective view to the game and the genre it represents they would think otherwise. I personally believe that many games in fact deserve the overrated lable.

Halo 2 is still better then most of these half ass shooters what are coming out.

People can hate all they want, but Halo is the Godfather of console shooters.

TheOwnerOner

I disagree, the godfather of console FPS's is Goldeneye for the N64

Rock Band will use the same controller for both the bass and the guitar. As to your second question I am a little confused. If you are asking if you can play the Bass line and the Guitar line as one player then the answer is no.
