Yeah, this is the reason I decided to ditch pc gaming for the most part. I miss those complex fps games. The old Ghost Recons and Tom Clancys were just great games. I also miss games like Commandos.

Are games like Arma, STALKER, or Red Orchestra not complex FPS games?

I have no idea why I'm not taxed on Steam and why I don't get the Euro treatment when the USD's weaker than the CAD, but anyways, **** Origin. :x Steam FTW!!!

BC2 for $5? Sounds like they really want people to stop playing CoD and give BF a chance. Sure got me to try (this is my first BF game).

Origin interface will take some getting used to. Much brighter than Steam. >.>

Smart thinking on EAs part...getting more people into the battlefield series will do wonders for battlefield 3s sales!

Halo and Call of Duty 4 sold buckets. The games themselves aren't that gret compared to others but people like it so they make what sells. Quake and Unreal used to sell so those were made. I gotta tell you it sucks when you like Quake and Unreal more then Call of Duty or Halo. The last good arena shooter came out 7 years ago...

you said the PC was just another platform for shooters. i proved it was not, at least as far as BF3 is concerned.

your opinion of a game that hasn't been released yet doesn't enter into this.

E.Y.E. just came out, Hard Reset and Red Orchestra 2 are about to come out, Serious Sam 3: BFE is going to release exclusively on the PC a little while before it hits the PS3/360, and BF3 is being built as a PC game first.

Then of course you have the STALKER series, the original Crysis, Killing Floor, Shattered Horizon, Arma, TF2 which is infinitely superior on the PC, and many others.

The FPS genre hasn't gone anywhere, and honestly I prefer it on the PC. I would never think of going to the consoles for my FPS fix.
