I recently brought a gtx 460 and upgraded my ram to 4gb ddr2 800mhz....with the intention of overclocking my now ancient e6750 which at stock 2.66ghz obviously will limit how well i can play certain games. Even at stock my cpu gets up to 66 degrees on near max load, and this is with an aftermarket cpu cooler running at 100%, although i dont know the make but i know its pretty big and got a copper heat sink so theres no way it should this hot with it. Even if i take the side panel off the case it makes little difference, and theres no way i can overclock if at stock it is already this hot.

Why do you think my cpu is so hot? Could it be a problem with the thermal paste, maybe replacing it would help? Or maybe the aftermarket cooler isnt a good one? Although even with a stock cooler it shouldnt be getting so high...the max temperature the e6750 can operate at is 72 degrees btw! Inside the case is relatively clean, abit dusty but not too bad and the wires are quite tidy. Any suggestions would be much appreicated!

From a purely technical standpoint, I think not.

Another-World
Well from a purely technical standpoint Shogun 2 is the graphics king by far and i would say Witcher 2 exceeds vanilla Crysis technically as well as artistically! I think Crysis's graphics are incredibly overrated, yea its a fantastic looking game but in some elements its really starting to look dated espically in the vanilla version. Yes the foliage looks good and so does the character models and lighting but everything else? Nothing exceptional! Witcher 2s textures absolutely blow Crysis's out of the water!

Cryisis is a one trick pony. Any game can look good with 2 enviornments 3 enemies and 4 years worth of modding.

Inconsistancy
I think there are 8 total enemies.. not that that's anything to be proud of

Korean, Nano Suit, Squid, Squid2(big), Tank, HMMWV, APC, Funky smaller alien thing. Right? (I count different vehicles as different enemies)

This post made me lol! Haha! Crysis and its antics!

Dead Space 2 was my favorite game of this year. Its everything I loved about games a hellbenting challenge, Visceral and eerie level designs great character models. it ws everything good about resident evil 4 which is my 3rd favorite game of all time I love deadspace 2. In a age where games are getting easier and easier deadspace is diffucult but you learn from it its the fun kind of diffucult.insanewolfninja
Sorry gonna have to disagree with you there i found Dead space 2 on one of the top difficulty very easy indeed!

It's sad that the best game he's ever played is an FPS.

alienlegion

Right, because Deus Ex, Half Life, Half Life 2, weren't recieved as some of the greatest games ever, right? :?

Um...so you're an FPS fan trying to tell me these FPS games are the greatest ever made?

Refer to my earlier comment.

And your an "insert genre" fan with an opinion that that genre has the best games.....out of curiosities sake what do you think is the greatest game ever made?

Why is his brother getting so much flak for saying that the orginal Crysis is the best game hes played? The game is a masterpiece and most certainly one of the best games i have played??? Only a handful of single player fps's can even compete with it!

That could do some serious damage! Considering even single player games need steam on to play them....not to mention all those credit card details! Lets hope Valve have updated their firewalls....!

I had no idea what he was talking about... so i said something.

SoBaus

apparently you have no idea what anyone is talking about, you just seem to answero some random console fanboy comment lol

both pc and consoles have their pros and cons, but if you seriously say its best to play fps in consoels than pcs you probably are just another 15 yo who cant afford a decent gaming rig

you got me, i only have a gtx 460... which cant play PC games at console graphics levels. Ill be honest, the only reason i even upgraded to the gtx 460 was to try to understand PC elitists. I still dont get it. Granted i played online fps in the old days, when basic beige pcs cost $2000 and unlimited internet was $100+ a month for dial up... but im not a real PC gamer, because im not on the bandwagon of people that dont have any concept of history. Pc gaming started yesterday amirite?

Lol i have a gtx 460 and it destroys basically even game i throw at it at modest (by pc standards) resolutions. I play on console the odd time and im almost always in the top few even tho im barely used to the controls. There is a huge gap in skill i think. If i played on consoles consistently for say 2 weeks, i would be confident i would destroy everyone, although when i play with the controller im always thinking...if i had a mouse and keyboard here i would actually not die once.

I know pc has more exclusives than the consoles combined but the majority of these games are strategy, MMORPG and normal rpg games! Are the majority of console gamers actually interesting in games like Shotgun 2 and Guild wars 2? I dont play much on consoles but I would guess not, and none of my console gaming friends would even consider thse types of games remotely fun. I would love to know what console gamers think, cause I see these threads where pc games claim "ownage" with a big list of exclusives however alot of them are very similar types of games which are very rare on consoles and if you arent into those sorts of games then big deal!

I know they are very different but is the gunplay in gta4 anywhere near as fun as Mafia? And I really loved the story and characters in Mafia...they really made the game for me in the absence of a open world that is more than just a way of getting to the next mission.
