@ScreamDream @draken2533 all he said was give game for free. Nothing more nothing less in game purchase is where these companies are making a killing now and why they can release games cheap or even for free. Advertisements in game such as product placement and pop up ads on things such as free iOS and android games as well as ingame purchases are a business model. Prime example for a counter argument FREE tablet and smartphone games it's viable and has been shown to be so for some time

@McGregor @ScreamDream as long as you show a proper model and have in-game purchases you should be good on that we had to get 200k in funding for our first venture

@ScreamDream @draken2533 "Games nowadays have voice actors, people actors that wear suits for the models, orchestra's, licensed music, and I'm not even scratching the surface." Yet they have F2P profit comes from in-game purchases so it's going against everything your mulling on about cause they still make money period. My first game on steam was a shot in the dark i didn't get paid much for it but it opened the gates and as soon as i could put mine in a pack of games for $20 it was a no brainer sales shot through the roof you look at games being out for sometime as soon as it goes on a good sale you will see product sales skyrocket

@ScreamDream @Battle_Pants Are you forgetting about all these games coming out that are F2P and use in-game purchases i guess you like to just conveniently forget them or things like the humblebundle where you pay what you want and send the money to devs or charity but we can't have an open mind can we

@Geogyf all i can think of after reading this is Humblebundle it's always a huge success and people pay what they want these smaller devs need to try to move to all digital it saves us the consumer a ton of money. $60 for a retail game and on digital d/l run $20-$30 think $40 for AAA

@McGregor @epicgameresearc They have their place thats for sure. You see that story about EA pulling back on MT because people weren't spending like they were we as customers have the final say and when we stop buying all their stupid camos skins and all that garbage they will stop pushing it so hard and also lower the price. I have a feeling that we should see more reasonably priced MT's in the future but i could be totally wrong

@ScreamDream @Battle_Pants it still proves the point it's free so what your saying is it can't be used as an example because it doesn't have "blockbuster games on linux" DERP

@eva02langley a big reason why smaller devs are doing this is because they make the same amount of money per game no matter if it's only digital or retail while the consumer pays big time TL2 $20 brand new said if it went through publisher would of cost consumers $50 and no matter which way they went they would make ~$14 per game. So there is a $30 charge for boxing and distributing the game from the publishers.
