I have been searching for a motherboard for a few weeks and one thing I do not understand is the onboard 1394a not sure what it is used for and if I would need it? can someone please help and explain this to me. Thank you

Ok I have been searching again for motherboards and have come up with another option for anyone to give me some imput on. here are the 3 choices I have made and trying to decide on which one..

ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

ASUS M4A79 Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

MSI DKA790GX Platinum AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

any other suggestions would be appreciated, I am trying to stay around $200 or less I will be using the AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor

Intel is not an option at this time due to budget and personal prefrence. thanks

I am currently looking at building a system for games and video editing, right now I am confused on the motherboard I should use, I have been researching a couple different ones, I have decided to go with the AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb processor since I have always been a fan of AMD and they seem to be a stable build.

The motherboards I have looked at are the MSI DKA790GX Platinum and the ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe

because of budget issues I would like to stay under $250 for a good motherboard

I have decided on the Rosewill Conqueror WSL Triple 120mm Fans Steel ATX Mid tower case because I will not do alot of mods with the case and it fit my budget because I prefer to spend the money on the cpu/motherboard and graphics card

Power source is Rosewill RX750-S-B 750W 80Plus Certified, ATX12V v2.2 & EPS12V v2.91 SLI 8800GTX SLI CrossFire Ready Active PFC PFC Power

I am still looking at different graphics cards but will probably go with the Radion HD 4870 or 4850

could someone please help me with choosing which motherboard will work best for my build and also give me the most options for expansion later on..

I am open to also using other boards so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated..
