@kazeswen: I totally agree. The Mario and Luigi series is a little bit closer to Mario RPG than Paper Mario IMO, but you're right, it's missing some of the best things about it.

I loved the Mario and Luigi series (it even has a little bit of an Earthbound feel to it), but Paper Mario games just don't do as much for me. It looks like the series has been going downhill lately according to most reviews.

So what did Nintendo say? Did they say, no? Oh it was mentioned 3 times in the article and once in the headline? I see...

That was a wise choice. I was just starting to think, "If I decide to buy a different headset a few years down the road, would I lose access to all of my Oculus games if it's a different brand? Why buy any more games on the Oculus store if that's a risk when I can keep playing whatever VR games I buy on Steam no matter which headset?"

Glad to hear they reversed that. I think they saw the feedback from the community and it became obvious it would not be a financially sound decision to keep the DRM block. It probably dawned on them that gamers would have just started buying more VR games from Steam and fewer from Oculus if they'd kept it up.

I played the demo a few hours ago. It is at least as good as I'd hoped and shows a ton of promise. The level design is great in the way SotN was with smartly placed platforms, branching paths to treasure (some with gear), breakable walls opening shortcuts to items or a previous area, and a nice variety of enemies. The controls could be a little bit quicker but are still satisfying. The sword swipes can be cancelled on a jump a little bit (not as fast as Alucard could), but I'm hoping different weapon types like katanas, fists, and daggers will introduce that quick hit speed.

Even in this current condition it should be a great game, but I expect they have a long way to go polishing it.

I'm really surprised Gamespot and IGN didn't seem to cover this at E3.

@groowagon: The music is very reminiscent of Symphony of the Night. So if you liked that soundtrack, you will probably like what you hear :D

I enjoy my Rift, but wow did she sound disingenuous. That kind of repetition in the answers (all about how great the product is!) without actually answering potentially negative questions just makes the company seem untrustworthy.

I'd say go ahead and reduce the number of enemies and effects on screen at once if that's what it takes to keep the game from dropping below 30 fps. Neither need to be in great numbers to add anything to the experience for me. If this game ends up with a stable frame rate on PS4 and X1, I will be pleasantly surprised.

@freedom01: Exactly. I have somewhat mixed feelings about both demos, but sort of enjoyed them mostly. I'm really hoping that the full game draws me in more. It's often the upgrade systems that keep me interested in this kind of game - not just the battles alone. Most battles would feel pointless in the older Final Fantasy's if there wasn't a reward for completing them and sense of progression. That's how the old FFXII demo was - fight battles but for what? I found the XII demo boring, but then absolutely loved the full game.

Hopefully that's the case for XV as well.

@TheWalkingGhost: It's the exact same people saying both lines right? Or are you generalizing everyone you don't know as the same person?
