FiNE, JEEZ

Finished Bioshock 2 for the first time and was contemplating reviewing it when I realized I promised you reviews for the first game. 2 years ago. Fun game, story was a little...strange...but it had the kind of ending I like, happy and you have to use your brain. Review, letters, 2 new TF2 leagues, and a bunch of videos are on my plate. And I need to find work. And graduate. And play Dead Space 2.

Something I've wanted to do for a while

I'm sitting at my laptop on Skype, Ventrilo, and Support Suite for work as I type this so forgive the interjections of people's stupidity as I share it as it happens.

So, technically, I was supposed to graduate this year but apparently electives aren't "elective" and I can't "elect" to not take any. When I told that to my advisor he laughed because he thought I was being funny. I laughed at him because I wasn't. That aside, I get to shell out another $10K to go back to school for my undergraduate degree. Yay.

Anyway, in my quest for knowledge and my thirst for potent potables I've come across some really bizarre information. All of this insanity is, in fact, true as I have received it from a primary source. This is "Wierd $%@! I Learned in College, vol 1".

  • China is the largest bootlegger of toothpaste in the world. What's even scarier is that they replace the key ingredient that works in toothpaste with ethylene glycol, better known as anti-freeze. Which is lethal. Which is bad.
  • You cannot take more than 1 banana into a nuclear power plant. A pair of bananas emits more radiation than an entire nuclear power plant and a second one will set off the plant's alarm systems. Crazy, eh?
  • Barbecue sauce tastes fantastic on pizza. It's insane.
  • Domino's pizza tastes best between 12.30 and 2.15 am

Your "Stupid Person of the Day" comes to you from the support service I'm on right now.

Client: "My match time got deleted"

Me: "So what's the question?"

Client: "Why did it get deleted? We accepted the match time and now it's gone."

Some dialogue figuring out who he is and his team followed.

Me: "Have you proposed a new time yet?"

Client: "No, they did. They proposed the same time."

Me: "But you accepted the first one, right?"

Client: "Yes. And then they proposed the same one again."

Me: "So what's the problem? Accept it again if you can still make it."

Client: "Yeah, but the match time got deleted."

Me: "So do you plan on playing your match?"

Client: "Yes."

Me: "Then accept the match you accepted and play the game."

Client: "...Oh..."

The client came back 3 or 4 times over the course of the next 10 minutes. He has not gotten any more intelligent.

It's done!

My movie is done! 400 gigs of footage, 4 weeks of gathering footage, countless marathons of SVU watched, and a lot of booze, PUNCHES: THE MOVIE is completed! Enjoy!

Also, the news! I have been hired as the head of game for CEVO for Team Fortress 2! I'm going to be THE guy in charge of running the world's largest competitive gaming company's TF2 branch! I'm super-excited for this incredible opportunity and I'm really looking forward to being able to change the future of the game. Thanks, everyone, have a pleasant evening.

Pre-Blog Blog

I'm finishing up my movie by the end of the weekend (hopefully) and I'll fill you in on my new role in the world of competitive gaming :)

Exciting News!

So, I've got some exciting news (for me, anyway). I've been asked to write for Community Fortress, the competitive TF2 website in a column based off of my "Letters to Stupid People" segments. As you could imagine, it's geared towards TF2 but will not change what I do here, I just get to write more letters. Enjoy :)

Wish I was sharing happier news

A friend of mine died yesterday. I went to high school with him and he taught me a lot about music, people, and being a better person. He joined the Air Force so he could help people and he was a hell of a trumpet player. USAFA Peter Sohm, I, and all of your friends and family, will miss you.

Happier news later, I promise.
