@dogman7 True, but face it, they STOPPED caring when Halo started making them more money. Where is our Marathon III, Oni II or Myth III? All great game franchises with some games being much better than the halo titles, but will you see them expand on those series? Of course not, because 1: Most of the developers of those games moved on and most likely went to other companies to make something OTHER than FPS games 2: It would require mor creativity and thought, which Bungie is obviously lacking as of late 3: The most important reason, unless it's a mainstream title, it wont make money. That's why people like Activision and EA keep giving us the same crap every year, because of the name ALONE on the box.
@Madball357 That's a pretty bold and unjustified statement...
If the only thing mildly interesting is Dishonored out of that list, yet ACIII and Halo 4 (I know it's what he said, but I assume you're agreeing), than I'd hate to know what kind of bland and souless gaming lifestyle you live with.
@The-Neon-Seal What about Dragon's Dogma, Darksiders 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Sleeping Dogs (True Crimes: Hong Kong), Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2, Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, and Hitman: Absolution? In 2013 we have Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, and Lost Planet 3. Plenty of good games to enjoy!
I WOULD say Black Ops 2, and Warfighter (Which I was excited for both when announced), but then I thought back to the attrocity of MW3 and my wasted 65$, and the equally horrid MoH 2010 game. Being an MoH fan contributed to "Warfighter" (Stupid as hell title),but Black Ops WAS decent, so I may have hopes for that game, but it's SO not worth a day one release buy for me.
Sounds decent for the price. Better than most LE Packs. The price is a little steep for me at the moment, so I'll just pass and get the Regular copy. I do however think it's a little bulls*** that you're paying 40$ for essentially a map pack that will be released later on, a head start on the MP benefits, and videos soon to be posted on youtube.
I say to just include it with the game with all DLC from start (Not the MP benefits, just the maps) and sell the copy whole, reserving the LE and Legendary/Mythic/Epic/Superultrasexyviolent collections for the hardcore fans who want the art books, statues, life size helmets, T-Shirts, and other bells and whistles. Really, it's fairer that way, looks better for the comnpany, doesn't make them look like they're brotheling their games with DLC, and generally benefit the player's and community with more content.
I'm not angry, or ranting here, I'm just hoping Halo doesn't turn into what Mass Effect, Saints Row, Street Fighter, and MANY other games have become with disc locked and overpriced DLC, ruining their credability. Halo 4 is already looking bad in the eyes of a lot of people due to the gameplay being a kin to something like CoD, BF, Homefront, and other modern shooters. I'm not worried if the game will be good or bad, I'm neutral. I've been a fan for over 10 years and have always cherished the series, even at it's worst, but even saying that, I'm a little skeptical here and there.
@Dinichtys I think it has more to do with the fine lines of taste. Some people enjoy the punishingly difficult and feel rewarded and accomplished for beating it a certain style, others prefer simplicity and easy going fun. It's just preference, don't judge people who mock you for "Sucking" too harshly because they're used to that play style. Same goes for them for mocking somebody who prefers an easier going time. Just don't do it is all.
@gamingfrendly It is a shame really. They actually have real talent and want to make a satisfying game while trying to add some spice to the formula. IW is a bunch of hacks who copy and paste everything with zero effort or sufficient changes to save development time and money, and pass it off as unique and original to the series. Though it's not entirely their fault, most of it is due to Activision being the tyrannical dictatorship of a production company it is, and IW just can't deliver fast enough. They're still new after all. Treyarch can take a bit more of the punishment and has the time and skill to try something half-way different in order to experiment. At least that's my belief. I am a fan of CoD, I'll admit that, but I play many other games and CoD isn't even close to my top 10 shooter games. I'll also bash the HELL out of MW2 and 3 for being such poor excuses of shooters if I get the chance.
@Jawehawk-DK The series only sucked when MW2 was made. THAT was when the CoD haters emerged and BF stepped into the ring. Older fans since CoD: Finest Hour, like myself, hope the series can redeem itself. CoD doesn't suck so much as everything after WaW sucks, and MW2 and 3 do suck and fail as good games.
@gamingfrendly Treyarch has always been trying to make changes to the regular formula with every game. It's just that not all of them work out. WaW added Vehicle combat, zombies, gibing (Flying body parts), revival assistance, and a few others. Black Ops offered less but it gave us an in game economy and CoD points system, emblem customization, Perk challenges, and cosmetic changes based on 1st tier perks and not weapons, among a few other less notable ones. Treyarch always tries to do SOMETHING different, but it either goes unnoticed, or forgotten. Hopefully, this game makes even bigger changes. I mean, 2Pac levels of Changes.
@jaws616 Yeah... it's pretty much that. Think of it this way, it's Bat-*Cough* 2142 but with an actual story and SP campaign. also, NOTHING this game can do will top Titan mode. It looks fine for a future setting, but it seems more like a rip-off of Deus Ex than anything.
