I will definitely continue to buy UMDs. It's been said before, and I'll repeat it again - many gamers need to have something tangible when it comes to a video game. It's just not the same owning a physical hard copy versus owning a digital copy.

This is even more true for the video game collectors among us. Every now and then I glance at my collection of video games with a sense of awe - can't exactly do that with a memory stick.

The UMD is the only thing holding the PSP back. A UMD can only take 1.9GB of data and all great PSP games are at the limit so by getting rid of it they would be able to make far bigger and better PSP games!!_F_F_7_

I don't understand why so many gamers believe more memory automatically translates into better games. 1.8GB is already a LOT of memory. The majority of games don't even use up half the memory available, especially the PS1 ports. Yes, more memory means more space for graphics, FMVs and such, (ex. FFVII on PS's CDs vs. Nintendo's cartiges) but gaming history has proven that memory size is only a small factor in the design of great video games (ex. Zelda:OoT on N64's cartiges).

RE2 was released on PSN in Japan in late 2007. RE3 has also been released on PSN in Japan.

I have buy the PSP 3004"(THE BLACK PSP with lego batman)" and 28 good games for the psp,and i have the original memory card"(sony memory stick pro duo 4 GB).But i have one problem. The Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX and the Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower they can't save on the memory card. The game say that there is no memory card. All the others games the can save but those games they can't.Can someone help me on this.?Why i have that problem.?:(

Panosola

This is a common problem for new SFA3M owners, and it has been discussed before how to solve the problem. The problem isn't directly the memory stick size, but how much free space is left on the card. Like a previous poster mentioned to try a smaller size memory stick, simply fill your memory stick untill there is less than 1GB of free space, and it will work. Copy a movie onto it or a couple of songs - things that take up a lot of space, but could easily be deleted if necessary.

Have you went to Game Rankings? They collect reviews from legitimate review sites all over the web and compile them together to produce aggregate rankings. Currently, Phantasy Star Portable isn't doing too well critically at 69.43%.

I was thinking about picking up PSP some day, and I alrady have Star Ocean: First Departure (although it's still sealed...bought too many games last month).

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, Kingdom of Paradise, Monster Hunter series, etc. There's numerous RPGs available for the PSP, and a number of threads already started about them. I'll leave you to look them up instead of repeating.

http://www.dealextreme.com/

Have you heard of dealextreme (DX)? It's an amazing site to purchase parts and accessories for all sorts of electronics. For the PSP, there's something like 800 parts and accessories available. Much more choices then EBay.

I think you can buy replacement LCD screens for about $10 there. Free shipping worldwide. The one catch - it can sometimes take FOREVER to ship. 2 to 3 weeks is the average. If you're not in a rush, I'd recommend DX.

These are the games that I have owned but for some reason could get into, so I traded them for other PSP games.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daxter.

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters.

Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX.

Castlevania Dracula X.

Ridge Racer.¨

Outrun: Coast 2 Coast.

Formula 1: Grand Prix

FIFA 09 , I still have this game, but I am planning to to trade it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GameStop coupon.

digimonkey12

It's really unfortunate that Castlevania: The Dacula X Chronicles seems to get traded in so often, with difficulty being the primary cause. Personally, I'll admit that I was VERY stuck at the first boss (both the normal and alternative boss) for days, and was pretty fustrated about it. I eventually beat it and continued to finish the game with the good ending, but not before getting totally owned more then enough times. For the first 2D platformer I've played since Super Mario Bros. on NES, I think I did pretty well.

Generally speaking, I sell/trade-in action-like games, and keep RPG-like games. But I do like keeping ports/re-makes, such as Castlevania: DXC, Mega Man Maverick X, and Tomb Raider Anniversary. While I make an effort to try out and finish each game, for the most part I've sold those games because they got boring of there was a high trade-in-value (TIV). I've sold :

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (finished two times, and achieved about 70% of the weapons experience)

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow (finished three times, and achieved about 90% of the weapons experience, high TIV value)

God of War: Chains of Olympus (finished twice, high TIV value)

Patapon (finished about 20%, couldn't get into the genre, high TIV value)

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matter (finished once, high TIV value)

Daxter (finished once)

Crush (finished about 80%, got stuck/bored, high TIV value)

Stret Fighter Alpha 3 Max (finished about 10%, couldn't get into the genre (though I enjoyed Tekken), high TIV value)

Dude, I would say "get a real life", because pirating is just a poor excuse for a life-style. Sit at home. Burn CDs. Sell them. Repeat. Oh yeah, and than you get caught and go to jail... Great life, man.

ColdP1zza

Pirating is not a life-style. I have a PSP-3000 so I couldn't mod it even if I wanted to (not that I play my PSP anymore anyways).

But here is how pirating on the PSP works. Your sitting at home like you are right now. You download, and then do whatever while you wait for the game to download. You don't burn CDs and anyways that only takes a few clicks of a mouse. Nobody sells pirated games nor have they ever because pirated games are free... I'd doubt anyone has been caught downloading games in North America in the past few years. Because cops don't care. And even if you did get caught you wouldn't go to jail, it would be a fine in cash.

Nobody sells pirated games? Are you kidding me?

Just do a quick search on Craigslist or Kijiji with something as simple as "PSP Games" or "DS Games," and you'll find out. Some retails stores even sell pirated games. Have you been to Toronto? There's a well known hotspot mall for pirated games here, where finding a store that sells genuine copies is more difficult then finding a store that sells pirated copies. I'm sure other cities have similar offerings too.

The police DO care about intellectual crimes. However, the police generally don't have the resources to go after 12 year old kids who pirate maybe, $200 worth of games. If they did however, pirates would be pretty darn screwed, and good for them.

Just use a credit card (or any wallet size card for that matter) and firmly press down with the edge of the card on the screen as you apply the screen protector on. Then just push it out the bubbles with the edge of the card and you should be fine.
