What did Nathan write about the game or her in general anyway.

As far as I can tell from discussions on other websites nobody's bothered to pull up any actual articles he's written, just lots of things that seem awfully coincidental. Her game on steam did get an award from a website chaired by Robin Arnott (one of the other people her ex named), that's a smoking gun as far as some are concerned. Hopefully in a few days' time somebody else will have done some proper research and dragged up evidence of any corruption so I don't have to go looking myself.

Many of you support a normal welfare system, which is understandable. Let me ask you all this: Would you be in support of a welfare system that takes away a few looks point from the top good looking people and distributes them to the ugly people? (pretend that this is actually possible). Good looking people have more enjoyable lives and are given positive social reinforcement throughout their lives, while the same cannot be said for ugly people. Would you support this? Why or why not? Also we could throw height in here as well. Taller men on average earn more money than shorter men. It is proven that height is a big factor in business.

Does someone really need to look this good?

That bow tie is a poor choice, it doesn't go well with the rest of his outfit. I think either a lighter blue or red to match the colours on his jumper. Black also works too.

The guy in the OP is just some random guy they chose for this propaganda. He probably does not even smoke himself. Why couldn't they have used this guy? Would the message be as effective?

Is that Harry Styles? I know he got caught trying it but I don't know if he's a frequent user.

The guy in the OP isn't even ugly thought, that's just how middle aged guys look. He could be doing a lot worse.

Everything has been going downhill since 2006. I still remember when people decided to rage quit that year over Gerstmann's firing.

I remember joining up to N4G with a large number of other GSers and relocating there with the intention of it being for good. Most of us came crawling back after a week. Heh

Pretty fitting title given that in a few weeks time he's going to the NATO summit, which is being held at a golf resort (the same place hosted the Ryder cup in 2010).

Damn, what a kick in the teeth, those are some of their biggest names. Poor guys, I wonder what they're going to do now. I looked at Carolyn's twitter and it seems she's a bit lost because working for gamespot was her big goal, she didn't contemplate what to do afterward. Still, all of them have a lot of experience and a major name in the industry on their CVs, there'll hopefully be more good opportunities for them.

She did have it coming. She had a political agenda that had nothing to do with video games. I don't think death threats were warranted and people that gave them need mental help. She was toxic to this site though, and i'm glad they canned her ass.

So whats the "it" you speak of? I assume you mean losing her job, well that isn't what's being discussed.

Why would a person deserve any kind of hate at all for writing a review you disagree with? You do realise that reviews aren't supposed to be objective. they're just opinions. You are hating a person for having an opinion.

The firing was justified and people being upset. You can hate people for opinions btw. Are you saying we shouldn't hate hitler because he thought the jews were demons?

You're either a troll or just really not in touch with reality. She made political agendas that had NOTHING to do with gaming. Game reviewers and the press represent us in the media. When people do shit like that, it makes us look stupid. Reviews are supposed based on an objective framework with taste peppered in. They're not meant for your political agenda or vendetta against the world.

Seriously, lets cut the bullshit and call it what it was. A complete joke. I'm glad they canned her ass, and I hope she stays out of the gaming industry. I play games to get away from politics, not to create it.

I haven't been around here much lately, what happened to Carolyn and when? Her profile still lists her as a being on the staff.

EDIT: Nevermind I found this. Damn that's awful :(

The burial was delayed due to a legal battle where Richard's descendants claimed that he should be buried in York, because he is a member of the House of York, but the High Court ruled that there is no reason why his body should not remain in Leicester (where he was originally buried).

Given how long ago he lived I would imagine quite a large number of people in Britain are descended from him, I don't see what special right these people have to argue a case on his behalf.

I've thought about it. I have an MEng at the moment, which is an undergraduate masters (4 years of undergrad study as opposed to 3, the standard length of a bachelor's degree course in the UK) and nearly accepted a PhD that was offered to me but eventually decided I hadn't put enough thought into it - I went from having no intention of doing a PhD whatsoever to nearly accepting this one in the span of two weeks. I realise that with a PhD it is absolutely essential that you are very interested in the specific topic you're studying, and I'm not sure I've found such a topic yet. One of my friends went to grad school for a chemistry PhD and disliked it because he realised that, although he loved chemistry, he didn't enjoy his specific area enough to put in the commitment required. He suggested I work for a year and think about it so that's what I'm doing now.

You mentioned being on the fence about changing to a different uni, that is also something to think carefully about. With PhDs it's not so much how good the university is but how good your specific supervisor is. However it is also important to be happy in your working environment and have good opportunities outside of your research. Moving to a different uni could be a chance to experience a new place and meet new people. Factors like these that affect your happiness cannot be neglected, though I think they shouldn't take precedence over your choice of supervisor. What are your specific circumstances that make you on the fence about it?
