@Iemander: Halo & Halo 2 worked fine and still work fine on Windows 10. Halo 1 was limited to 900p and had almost no graphical upgrades but runs great. Halo 2 is limited to 1920x1200 and 4x anti-aliasing but runs smooth with no problems.
you would rather not have the opportunity on PC at all than the slightly better than xbox option(s) they gave us?
if this turns out to be what they proclaim than it will be amazing. i can already imagine hundreds of uses including gaming, architectural, engineering, media related(video on any surface), etc.
just because the price for this development kit sounds too exorbitant for most average consumers doesn't mean it will fail.
@jZangetsu21: you must not have a system capable of rendering that many frames per second or running the highest anti-aliasing methods. it makes a huge difference visually.
@livedreamplay: what, you don't like getting: "my $2000 rig will eat your xbone for breakfast you peasant" from kids who are probably playing on their parent's laptop?
it's just gotten ridiculous from both ends. MS, Sony, and PC developers have made it worse by allowing exclusivity to be purchased before a game's release and fuel the fire with jealousy.
of course in a perfect world every platform would have every game, with any peripheral desired, and all would be able to run at 60+fps with all effects enabled. but then what would be the point of having different platforms?
@skiggy34: being totally honest, many of the games available for PC are better than those on consoles in my opinion and i would give up any console game for many of those that are exclusive to PC. i would trade any exclusive PS or Xbox game for Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, Grim Dawn, and that whole category of games from the last 20 years. and that is only one small group/genre of games available on PC.
even just for greater than 60fps and the ability to run games with higher resolution and more effects makes the PC a better platform for many people. also worth mentioning is the mod support for so many great games that gives those games another life entirely. and what exactly do you mean by, "Look at GTAV"? that is available for all platforms and the PC version offers much more options.
why anyone cares what platform others enjoy me is a question i will never understand though. wouldn't you rather have all options and all games available with the best possible settings and the best possible options for every platform? whether that be graphical options, mobility, ease of access, peripheral support, etc?
