@asneakypoptart: you are stating exactly the same point i made, but phrasing like you are disagreeing.

..."take the time to develop their PC versions and not just hand us low-budget ports"...

@Keaze_: everything i've seen about Primal looks fun to me.

the original Crytek Far Cry was all about stealth and close combat, but included guns. the second was all about open world combat with guns, fires, and explosions. the third and fourth were changed again with more character attributes, magic senses, more base infiltration, and more story. it seems Far Cry is keeping on track with it's changing up the gameplay history.

@Xristophoros: i wouldn't say anyone has been very forgiving about the steam controller or the steamOS. most i've seen that have tested have claimed how terrible of an idea the linux based OS was and not many are climbing onboard. the best way to show dissatisfaction to a company like that is to let them lose money doing it.

steam having games you call "shitty" being a sign of impending doom(subscription fees) with them makes no sense. for every cheap, or what we may consider stupid, game they have there's 10 more great titles. and no one forces anyone to purchase anything through steam so games you may not enjoy they have to offer doesn't mean anything negative about them. just because you don't enjoy the design or the mechanics of a game means they have no quality control? i believe it's more that they are trying to offer every type of game, developed or designed by anyone, with no discrimination.

@Xristophoros: steam makes a small percentage of every game purchased through them so hopefully if they're smart they wouldn't decide to push users away by charging subscription fees. most of the titles offered by them can be found elsewhere that wouldn't require a monthly subscription.

sony and ms don't have to worry about pushing users away with subscription fees because there's no alternative when using those platforms. users know they're stuck paying monthly fees when going that route.

i think is the first time since playing on the nes that a game kicked my ass so bad. never even got off the first continent before advent killed off the resistance. makes multiple playthroughs much better though, because now i need revenge!

hopefully all developers will start taking the time to develop their PC versions and not just hand us low-budget ports.

@thatguy2001: there are problems with the cameras, animations, mechanics, and quite a bit more actually.

but it does not take away from how fun the game is. it would be better without the frame rate hiccups, lagging camera, and actions taking way too long but i'm still enjoying the hell out of it. they could also update the RNG functions so that a mini-gun doesn't miss from 10 feet away quite so often.

@Warlord_Irochi: yeah, that was one of the first hype fests i remember that seriously disappointed everyone. still was fun as hell and had pretty good graphics but was nothing like what they had originally portrayed gameplay or graphics-wise.

@xilitia1972: too difficult for you? i don't see anything that would be considered "bad game mechanics". actually enjoy them better than most isometric and/or tactical shooters.

the only slight "problems" i've encountered is with the engine randomly stuttering during cutscenes and other random animations not interacting with the world the way they are intended. nothing mission or game breaking, no ingame mechanics that aren't working.
